This app is only available on the App Store for iOS devices.
Finally, a simple way to use your existing UPnP™ software and devices from your Apple iPhone™ or iPod® touch. Introducing PlugPlayer, an application to stream music from UPnP™ media servers or control UPnP™ media renderers - all from the palm of your hand.
- Stream Music*, Video*, or Photos* from a Media Server* to your Apple iPhone
Already have a media server running on your home computer or server? With PlugPlayer you can access music from your media server and listen to it on your iPhone.
- Control PlugPlayer from another Apple iPhone
Like listening to your iPod touch while it is docked to speakers, but hate having to physically walk over to change the playlist or volume? With PlugPlayer, you can use your iPhone to remotely control another copy of PlugPlayer.
- Control a Media Renderer* from your Apple iPhone
Already have a media renderer hooked up to your stereo? No need to fumble around looking for the right remote. With PlugPlayer you can control your media renderer using your iPhone, creating a playlist from media on your media server.
- Push media from your Apple iPhone
Use PlugPlayer to push media from the built-in server, or from external servers, to Media Renderers or AirPlay compatible devices such as Apple TV.
- No Additional Software or Configuration Required
Other solutions require proprietary software on your home computer, but PlugPlayer uses the media server you already have. Plus, PlugPlayer automatically discovers devices on your network without the need for manual configuration or settings.
- Advanced Features
Of course, should your device not be discoverable due to your network circumstances, there is also a way to manually add a device. With PlugPlayer's advanced device configuration, you can stream music and video from remote servers or even over VPN. You can even use PlugPlayer to help other media renderers discover your remote servers.

Bug fixes and updates for iOS8
Stops working-I want my 5 bucks back.
This app would be fine if it worked. Not great, but fine. It found my UPnP servers just fine, found my renderer just fine, but after selecting an album and playing a track it stops. That’s all it will do, it won’t play the next song unless I manually do it. It also selects another server randomly. I wish there was a free version I could have tested, I have no problem paying 5 bucks if it works, but this does not.
It works but needs some improvement
I have a very large media library, mostly music. I bought this app to stream without having to use the buggy iTunes library extensions.
My main goal is to play music and browse the music collection from the family iPhones.
- worked with playing from mediamonkey
- works with MP4 videos
- slow at times for no reason (e.g alphabet picker for artists)
- klunky UI; separate play/pause buttons;
- slow loading/no cache
The UI issues would be avoidable if I just wanted to watch movies. UI makes exploring music more painful than I would like.
My main media tool.
It does exactly what I'm looking for. It's a remote control to stream media (iow music) from my NAS / media server to my HTPC / media renderer connected to my AV receiver.
Main use case for me is streaming my music library (mostly FLAC) via iPad as the user interface to a DAC/Amp via USB.
My main complaint is still the double dip pricing model. This should be an universal app, functionality of the iPad app is no different and does not justify to pay the price twice.
Otherwise well worth the price.
