PocketBraille Reference 2.0 is here with new contractions and a new look!

PocketBraille Reference now supports one symbol word contractions and one-letter word contractions. We will have more contractions soon to help users learn grade 2 Braille. Keep checking back for more details and future updates We will also be including Computer Braille and Nemeth Braille at a later point in time.

Braille is the way people who are blind and visually impaired read and write. PocketBraille Reference is an application for the iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad that allows anyone to learn Braille.

PocketBraille Reference allows its user to look at several different Braille tables. These tables include the alphabet, numbers, and punctuation. These tables also make up the Literary Braille section of the application. Additional Braille codes will be added soon, available as updates rom the App Store. These will include Nemeth Math, Computer Braille, Grade 2 Braille, and even Braille Music. PocketBraille Reference also gives users a summary of the history of the Braille code. PocketBraille Reference also is compatible with all VoiceOver compatibile refreshable Braille displays for visual and tactile training. Make sure your Braille display is paired and that VoiceOver is on to use this feature.

Customer Reviews

Most complete I've found

This is the only app I've found with contractions. It makes for a nice quick reference for single cell contractions. Plus it has the numbers, alphabet, and some punctuation. I hope they will continue to add to the contractions they have.

TVI-in certification program

Well worth the minimal investment! This is a great reference. I will be putting it to use immediately to refer to while decoding my students' work in class.

Needs some more stuff

This app is superb and easy to follow. I'd like to see some more punctuations like a cent, italitics and concentrations like day, etc. Pls add a new list of two cells word concentrations. Thx.
