Update ruined a useful app

Prior to this update the app was easy to use and understand. The update deleted some data, including my defaults. It was challenging to reset them. The interface is less intuitive than the old one. I know I had to learn the old interface the first time I used it as well, but I remember that it was easier. My two ongoing gripes with the app are that it allows the iPhone to go to sleep during my workout, so I cannot check my heart rate and progress at a glance, I have to unlock my phone every time - the old app did not do this, it kept the display on continuously . Second, the Apple Watch app is essentially useless. It, too, turns off during the workout and I have to find its tiny icon and restart it every time I want to check my heart rate (which is the only thing it shows BTW). It also does not integrate its data into the phone so I do not get credit for my workout activity on the Progress feature of the watch. Polar needs to confess that they really screwed up, replace the old app, and keep working on this one. Maybe even have people who actually workout test it. I keep asking myself - why did they update the app, what was their reasoning? Change for change sake is not a good reason.

Update deleted my history

After updating i have record of 3 workouts: two from 2015 and one from 3 months ago. The app seems to work fine so far but i really cant get over that it deleted all of my history.
Update: it doest sync with apple health app even though it says its paired.
Update 6/23: health app sync works after latest update. Still not showing older data but new data is logging. Upgraded stars to 3.
Update 6/26: having used the app several times since the fix AFTER the update it works fairly well. It has a lot of features for free that other apps charge a monthly usage for. Its simple and easy to navigate. My heart is still broken that it deleted all of my history but im building back up. Im changing my rating to 5 stars officially but off the record its still 4 stars cause of the deletions.

Update release

The new update unfortunately removed the ability to enter in miles worked - not sure why this was taken out but please put it back in. I work out on either a stationary bike or an elliptical and now I am unable to track miles completed. In addition, do not like the black screen.
However, do appreciate that they updated the calorie algorithm. I believe it is more accurare, in that, it is now in line with the calorie displayed on my home elliptical and the gym stationary bike. I was always frustrated that previously the calories burned with Polar were so dramically different that that displayed on my equipment at home and at the gym (even though age, weight, etc) was entered in correctly. So at least they corrected that. Overall, still like the product, in that, it continues to track heart rate and zones well and I will continue to use.
