New upgrade is very frustrating - doesn't track!

Nothing like going out on a hard workout and the one thing that is supposed to track your workouts, doesn't track them! The old version used to work great wherever I was. I live in downtown Chicago and could turn it on anywhere and go and it was reliable. It would work great. With this new upgrade, I make sure I am in the open, or even on the lake path before I turn it on, (around from tall buildings) and it still doesn't track anything! I am writing this because I just got done with a workout where I was trying a new route and longer distance. I turned on the app, and went on my run. After 30 minutes, running at roughly an 8:30 - 9:00 pace, the app had said I only ran 0.15 miles. So I shut it down, restarted it, and took off for another 20 minutes. This time is said I ran 0.00 miles. The clock was running the entire time so I know the app was on, as well as the Location Services. I was very disappointed as this is the 3rd time it's happened. Giving it a 2.0 because I know Polar is a good company and hopefully will fix this. Otherwise I would give it a 1.0 for design, but nothing else.

Works well

A lot of the reviews posted for this app give the developers a lot of flak. I have not seen the problems other users have posted. I waited to up date until I moved to iOS 10 and they had pushed several minor updates after the last major one. All the functions I had in the old version seem to work well. The all important "other indoor" activity is in the list you just have to look for it at the bottom. When you select "Other Indoor", it actually turns off the GPS once you start the activity. This did not happen in the old version.

It also seemed to keep my activity history from the last version. The first time I started the app it took about two minutes to sync with the server and give me back my history, but it was smooth sailing from there.

Overall, I'm pleased with the update and it works just fine for me.

OK, but by no means great.

Gives you the same stats that most free hr monitors and training apps provide. It could really use an auto pause function as well as speed per interval. I need to run MapMyFitness app at the same time to get accurate biking intervals when I ride in traffic and need to stop for lights or stop signs. MapMyRide gives me good route and interval info but not heart rate during each interval (in this case the interval is one mile), max heart rate, average heart rate, percent of calories burnt from fat, etc. Single app doing all is definitely preferable. I would not have chosen Polar for my Bluetooth transmitter if I had not already owned a Polar heart rate monitor and hence already had a Polar wrist watch monitor.
