If you are a PE teacher, the Polar GoFit app is for you! It allows you to see how hard your students are exercising during your PE lesson. It enables you to view and measure your students’ performance and to evaluate them based on their own effort. And because the GoFit app measures live heart rate information, every student in the class can be helped to work at the right level for them. It means that, at last, even the least fit students can be encouraged to make progress, while the natural athletes in the class can also develop!
Polar has helped millions of people to reach their training goals. Now you can use the same know-how with your iPad with an app specifically designed to help you to run your PE lessons. The Polar GoFit app is designed to be used with the polargofit.com web service to help you manage your course and student evaluation. The polargofit.com web service is where you can plan your courses. Then simply take an iPad to your PE class and use the GoFit app to see how each student is performing. After the class, the data from that session is automatically updated in the polargofit.com web service. This allows you to get information on individual students throughout the academic year.
During the class each student wears a Polar H7/H10 heart rate sensor or a Polar A360/A370/M200/M430 monitor, allowing you to follow their heart rate on the go. You can teach the whole class and at the same time guide each student personally. The GoFit app helps your students to learn to stay within set target heart rate zones to achieve certain health benefits. Based on their effort, the app rewards them with badges. Students find this system highly motivating, while the data that you gather allows you to guide each of them to a better outcome.
-Before the lesson you can manage your students, assign transmitters to them and set a target zone for the lesson.
-During the lesson you can follow your students’ heart rates online (current heart rate, time accumulated in the target zone, badges collected).
-After the lesson you can analyze summary data from the whole class (average and maximum heart rate, time accumulated in the target zone, time spent in each heart rate zone, badges collected).
