The POLITICO app for iPhone and iPad brings you your politics fix in a clean, easy-to-navigate layout that keeps you up to date when you’re on the go. POLITICO delivers the fastest, most in-depth coverage of politics and policy developments and everything you need to stay up to speed on the 2016 races. POLITICO’s journalists break news and drive conversation on the White House, Capitol Hill, Washington and lobbying, the intersection of politics with Wall Street, media and personalities, and dedicated coverage of twelve policy areas.

■ Navigate quickly between several different POLITICO News sections, Blogs, Policy sections, Morning Tipsheets, POLITICO Magazine, Videos, and live online content, as well as Photos, Polls and user-saved Articles. The More Info section contains settings, a helpful FAQ, about, privacy policy, terms and conditions, and easy-to-use tell a friend and feedback mail templates.

■ The POLITICO app will dynamically deliver additional News, Blogs, or other feeds in the future, without requiring an app update. Make sure you have the notifications switch turned on in your Settings app for POLITICO, in order to be notified when new changes occur.

■ POLITICO’s articles, videos and photos update several times every day. The app will automatically check for changes several times every hour and intelligently download only those changes that are different from the last downloaded content.

■ All downloaded article content is intelligently cached for offline reading when a network is not convenient. You can use the “AUTO UPDATE” flags in the Sections menu to control what and how much content we automatically download.

Customer Reviews

Politico, as a source for political news and commentary is nearly without peer. That is where my acclamation ends a you have one of the worst apps I have ever had the misfortune of using. To be clear, the interface works fine, and it is aesthetically pleasing. However, the app is so buggy and slow that many times I am discouraged to open the app. It is slow to update (something or should do automaticall), constantly freezes and many times shuts down. The fact that those in charge of your app have not taken the time to fix these problems (which, if you look at the other reviews, have been mentioned many times) is disrespectful to first readers who typically look to you too stay informed on important political issues. GET IT DONE.

Great content, Poor Functionality

I am a huge fan of the content that Politico produces. Unfortunately, after months of frustration with the latest updates, I decided to delete the app. I am running an up to date and top of the line iPhone, and yet the app will constantly create an "updating news" spinning logo that never ends. I do not have this problem with any other news app. I am now using my Safari browser to view the site, and it is a subpar experience. Please improve the basic functionality of the app, and I will be more than happy to get it back.

Breaking News! Good Luck Finding It

So I have notifications turned on for Breaking News in Politico, CNN, Washington Post, New York Times, ESPN. All EXCEPT Politico navigate directly to the story when you open app via the notification. I typically can't find the story that is breaking even when I search for it. Not sure if it's even on Politico's website to be available for the app. With a rash of Supreme Court decisions, 2016 election stories, and today's Bengazi committee report, this has happened repeatedly. Why bother with a Breaking notice if it doesn't open the specific story?????
