■ The POLITICO app will dynamically deliver additional News, Blogs, or other feeds in the future, without requiring an app update. Make sure you have the notifications switch turned on in your Settings app for POLITICO, in order to be notified when new changes occur.
■ POLITICO’s articles, videos and photos update several times every day. The app will automatically check for changes several times every hour and intelligently download only those changes that are different from the last downloaded content.
■ All downloaded article content is intelligently cached for offline reading when a network is not convenient. You can use the “AUTO UPDATE” flags in the Sections menu to control what and how much content we automatically download.

Needs Quick Improvement
I originally came to give this new version a one star for constantly having a notification on the app logo (even after reading all the new articles, and even deleting and re-downloading the app). But after reading the other reviews giving the newest version a poor rating for simply the new layout, I have to disagree and bump my one star to a three star because I personally love the new layout and the simplicity of the way it now works. The app loads instantly and all the main articles are clearly displayed right there with the secondary ones bulleted below; perfect.
However, like I said before the app always has a notification and it drives me nuts. I think it's a glitch since I've deleted the app and tried reinstalling it multiple times, each occasion it had a notification immediately upon download. So I'm not quite sure what's going on.
Love the news you all put out and the hard work that everyone puts into Politico. Thank you.
Wheel of Death = American Politics?
I have been a daily/hourly politico reader for years until this "upgrade." Recently, I haven't been able to read anything on the politico app. For about a week now, each time I open the app, it just gives me the same message - a buffering wheel, and the words "Loading Section... Top News." Sometimes stories appear - most of the time nope.
However, this unsatisfying experience has given me time to contemplate. Perhaps the repetitive, predictable, ineffective swirling wheel represents the modern American political process. Maybe there is no real news. Maybe Politico is reminding me that I should find a better way to spend my time than reading yet another story about how impossible/inevitable a Trump presidency is.
Or maybe you could just fix the app. Thanks!!
Could not be more disappointed with the new layout.
Politico used to open instantly and provide a concise list of headlines with photos. It was easy to scroll and select an article to read at a glance. Now, one headline takes up the entire screen, and selecting articles to read at a glance is impossible.
Additionally, the app now requires "loading" before the home screen opens. All in all, it's much less user friendly, and sadly I find myself avoiding it unless there's something Politico-specific I wish to read.
