Pomodoro Timer helps you boost your productivity using the Pomodoro Technique™, one of the most effective time management methods out there. Not only will you get a fully configurable timer that lets you customize every aspect of the technique, but you will also enjoy a clear and beautiful user interface.
There are five basic steps to implementing the technique:
1) Decide on the task to be done
2) Set the pomodoro (timer) to 25 minutes
3) Work on the task until the timer rings
4) Take a short break (3-5 minutes)
5) Take a longer break (15–30 minutes) every four "pomodori"
With this app you can:
• Set your target number of pomodoros per day
• Choose your alarm sound from 6 harmonious and clear sounds, or just leave it muted
• Customize the pomodoro length.
• Customize the short and long break length
• Turn ticking sound on/off.
• Choose how many pomodoros you want to do between long breaks
• Restart your daily progress by hand or automatically at midnight
• Start/pause/stop the current timer
And of course... you will get notified when your break time is up or you have finished your pomodoro.
It's time for you to earn those breaks and get to work NOW!

Great App — just some improvements would make it better
I started using the app and it is very helpful. I love that I can select that my pomodoro will not auto-start. However, I find I often forget to restart it if I’ve stepped away or took my break to check email. If there was a notification that popped up letting me know that I needed to start my next session’s timer, it would be even better.
Also, I got the app for my phone, but did not realize the two cannot sync with each other. It may be a minor request, but as someone who switches back and forth from my devices, I would love if they could sync up.
Finally, some have mentioned that the red indicator for during a pomodoro session is missed. I downloaded the app without that feature, but in my use I think it would also be nice to have some visual indicating when I’m in an active session and out.
This is a very nice app and thanks for it. Of the several I’ve tried it’s the only one I really like. I do have a couple of small problems.
First, I need to resize the window so it fits in whatever space I have left on the screen I use for reference. To keep it on the space where I write it distracting, and starting another space is an invitation to distraction. I realize this is not a failure of the app’s design but it is a concern.
Second, and I think this is less of a bugaboo - the loudness of the alarm makes it unusable. I can’t be the only one who works while others are sleeping and likes to keep quiet music on in the background. A volume slider and a simple pop would be very helpful here. That, or the option to point the app to our own sound files.
Five stars anyway since these concerns probably don’t apply to most users.
Let me add that I’m pleased to see fewer and fewer developers bowing to ridiculous trademark claims by Cirillo, as if he invented the tomato timer or came up with the idea of resting your eyes at responsible intervals. The trademark notice is a nice courtesy, but the silly name and icon changes we’ve seen in the past are obnoxious.
great for musical composition
I have been using this on the iphone for a couple months now. Employing it to get charts, demos, lyrics or any other ideas out. the timer goes off and I get down to making music. When it stops I take a walk. When its time to get back to work I inevitably have ideas. Way less burn out with this idea of time management. I have an idea though, to intagrate the app with the iPhone so when I close my laptop it would sync the app to my phone. So if I am working and close the lap top to relocate the break timer would keep on ticking in my pocket.
