Ratings and Reviews
My two boys, 3&5, loved this newest addition to our digital collection. The sights and sounds on every page are wonderfully delightful. We snuggled together as we read of the adventure of Benjamin Bunny and his cousin Peter Rabbit. The entire book has a nice calm feeling about it. When the onions fell from the handkerchief, we were then able to take the opportunity to count them. The highlighted text was also appreciated. The boys enjoyed leaving their "rabbit tracks" in the mud. As a parent I throughly enjoyed the beautiful illustrations, the soothing narration as well as the wildlife sounds. The falling leaves were so realistic! I would highly recommend this well built, quality keepsake app. I know the day will come when my little ones will outgrow these special moments, but for now, we continue to make memories surrounded by such wonderful literature.
Wow! All I can say is that this story is wonderful! The illustrations are amazing, the highlighted text is a great feature for early readers, story and character interactions are so fun, and my loves of this story app can go on and on... My kids really enjoyed this adventure with Peter Rabbit's cousin, Benjamin! The "pop out" objects were my kids favorite part. My oldest said it felt like we were actually in the story with Benjamin and Peter!! As a teacher, I can see many uses with this app with my students! Some ideas include; reading words, comprehension, retelling, vocabulary, and many more! I would highly recommend this story!!
Low resolution and blank pages - Buyer Beware!
I've previously purchased other PopOut! books for my daughter's iPod touch (2nd gen) and she loves them - they all work great. "PopOut! The Tale of Benjamin Bunny" however does not.
The app starts up and in a few seconds I see the main menu (and hear music playing in the background). The images and fonts on the menu appear to be much lower in resolution than the other PopOut! books that I've purchased. When I click on the book the cover opens but all I see is a blank page.. on ALL the pages. No images, no text - NOTHING. I can touch the page and hear the narrator read the invisible words. I can pull down the bookmark and see thumbnails (also notably lower in resolution than expected) but no pages.
The requirements above read: "Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Requires iOS 3.2 or later." I meet all of those and like I've mentioned before I have had no problems running their other PopOut! books. There MUST be something wrong with this app. Or they changed something so that it's no longer compatible with certain devices. Why is this book only 37MB when the others are well over 100MB?
