I was let down
I loved using poshmark and the great deals I was able to score in this app, but when I branched out an and decided to sell a few things, I was severely disappointed. My first few sales went well, but then I sold an item that caused me to see the unfortunate side of the way this app works. I buyer chose my item, which was discounted at nearly 70% and clearly documented with all of the flaws it possessed, only to be accused of false advertising and have my item sent back! I didn't mind this, if the buyer was disappointed they had every right to return their purchase, but when the item was returned it had been severely damaged by the buyer. Poshmark support told me there was nothing they could do, and I was not only out a profitable sale, my item was ruined and my reputation as a seller damaged.
It has its pros and cons
I love this app because it's an easy way to get rid of clothes that I no longer use and make a quick buck.. I think posh percentages should be made off the value of the item. I make 1-2 dollars if I post something for $5 which is basically giving it away.. and it's very hard to keep in contact with a buyer for necessary things. You basically have to comment on their stuff and make it public. And $6 shipping is ridiculous, more than half of the things I sell are less than 2 lbs.. I would love to pay $4 for a top but with that shipping it then becomes $10. There should definitely be more options for shipping.. which is why I rarely sell on here compared to mercari. I've noticed more name brand stuff sells on here than anything else.
Shipping & Fees
This is one of the apps where seller and buyer are both protected. I feel that shipping is too high for small items. Lower price items has 6:49 shipping which does not make sense. If the item is around $10 dollars and shipping is 6 people usually get it from a store and pay free shipping. Another issue I have is that sellers do not respond to questions for days and sometimes never. If someone does not want to sell they should not post listings. Since poshmark has raised their fees people have raised their prices too. I feel that sometimes it's not worth it to sell something if I will be making 6$. A lot of people I know are using Mercari, Tradesy and Ebay now.
