Used to be a great app

When Postmates was first introduced, I was amazed. Food delivery from any restaurant? And quickly? That was a lazy man like me’s dream. I would order multiple times a week and could enjoy Bret food whenever I wanted. Now, though, things are very, very different. Ever since the $3.99 delivery was introduced, it has all gone downhill. Real restaurants were less emphasized than ones that have no seating, that only exist in a hub for the sole purpose of Postmates. Now this would be fine except for the fact that they have removed the feature allowing you to order from any restaurant for a little more than $3.99, and have even gone so far as to pretend unapproved restaurants don’t exist, so there’s no way to order from them. The second thing that will kill Postmates is the new small cart fee- of your order is under $12 you are forced to pay a 2 dollar fee. This would be sensible except for the fact that the food item prices are designed to make it as difficult as possible for you to get right up on the limit- they have started to make things cost -.29 instead of -.99 and generally use sneaky pricing to make it more difficult. Overall, what used to be my favorite app got too greedy and became and overpriced, limited delivery service that forces you to pay extra for food from their list of approved restaurants. But hey, I knew it was too good to be true from the start, so I guess I shouldn’t feel too bad deactivating and uninstalling my account.

I’ve used postmates for a while and have been satisfied with their service. I signed up for the 9.99 a month service to get free delivery, and only use it a couple times a month. I’m not sure it’s worth the investment but I expect to get my food when we do order. I place an order one day, and it never shows up! Of course I’m pretty upset. Only way to contact customer support is by pressing help which sends them an email. They then email me back saying it’s MY fault and that they waited 10 minutes! I’m furious at this point and respond saying that I waited outside and they never even approached. They email back apologizing and decide to grant me the privilege of not charging my card. For the food I don’t get. Thanks a lot.

I order again which went ok, then the very next time it happened again!! Once again they apologize and don’t charge me for the order. I told them it is unacceptable and I would cancel my subscription to their service and wouldn’t use their service again. They send back instructions on how to cancel. No effort to appease their mistakes. I have a family and when I get off work it’s a scramble to do everything we need to before bed. We order dinner only a couple times a month for convenience and a break from cooking dinner (the whole purpose of postmates) and they fail miserably at taking care of a long time customer.

This is a horrible company and I strongly urge anyone who’s reading this to use another app.

Had the Postmates app for about a year and got sick of there BS, erased the app after this last disaster. Ordering effortlessly from Grub Hub today made me wonder why I ever strayed. This most recent order mishap was the end for me. I hadn’t ordered from them in a couple months and they put a 20$ hold on my card!! LAME and that was only the beginning of the ordeal.
The app was good for about 4 months but then went downhill. My order was messed up a couple of times and hey, I get mistakes happen but what I don’t like, unlike Grub Hub they just leave you with the mess, takes a few days to get the refund. Grub Hub fixes your order and then usually gives you a few dollars off your next order. This last time I had it, they handed me a brown bag, I open it and not only is my order wrong but it’s not even from the place I ordered from. I tried to run after delivery guy with no luck and if Postmates offered live help it would have been an easy fix. The fact too that the driver may have figured it out when the person who’s order I received, received my order and I never heard a word.
The other thing is they became too shady with hidden fees and BS. Beware of their 9.99$ a month deal, that won’t happen. My boyfriend fell for it, paid the $$ and not a single order came that month without extra fees added. There’s a whole bunch of restrictions we find out after the fact that they’ll charge for.
Too many good delivery places to deal with this nonsense.
