Solid App - but still in its infancy
The app makes price watching and expense cuttng simple enough for any user. Just enter the website and set notifications if you’re so inclined. App prices are plotted and you are alerted to changes. Great. The only changes I would want are quick entry via hotkeys: the basic ⌘N for new and maybe ⌘⌫ for remove. Also, drag and drop reaaranging would be nice as well. Otherwise, the app does what it sets out to do: make it easy to save big.
Dear ans87ID ,
Thanks for your comment !
We are working on the hotkeys shortcut feature.
App has already paid for itself
I buy a lot of stuff from Amazon and I have already saved enough to pay for the price of the app. I like the time tracking and the developer is very responsive. I have asked him to get rid of the Dock icon and that is one reason I give it only 4 stars. I hate menubar based applications that waste Dock space. Anyway there are a few tricks to learn about getting the price on items with different sizes, you need to add then to a list and copy that link into the app. Once you do that you get very accurate results.
Thanks for your comment.
You can now activate a dock icon & a menu bar icon with our last version.
Just does not work
I tried entering an Amazon URL in as many ways as I could think of… simple ASIN as the argument to the base URL; copied from an Amazon search; the full SMILE URL, the ASIN by itself and so on.
PriceWatcher 1.2.9 on 10.12.2 retained none of them; it still have no products in it to ‘watch’.
The preference for a country always default to France; I am in the USA. I love France, but… :-)
The developer does not have an obvious method of contacting him other than Facebook (which I do not use or want to use).
This is definitely one to stay away from… totally useless, sadly :-(
We are happy to say that our new release take into account your favorite store and fix some other bugs like the ASIN not retained.
Hope to talk to you soon.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
