Does a good job, Great App
I like having an app that cleans my caches and hidden files. Privacy Scan is very basic. There is no scheduling of cleaning which makes it harder to keep everything cleaned in the minimun amount of time. I was hopeing that I would be able to select which cookies would be saved and which would be cleaned but no luck there, all or nothing. Another anoying issue is that you have to quit when cleaning is done. So this does the job, my browser runs faster, takes less time to load a page. It dosen't delete stuff that I need. That is what its all about.
Doesn’t really work
I have a cookie on Safari that I have deleted numerous times and it spontaneously returns, so I bought PrivacyScan to eliminate it. After running the program, deleting all the items PrivacyScan “found” and even restarting my computer….the same cookie reappeared. So, I contacted PrivacyScan customer service and was told, "Every time you launch Safari, it checks for the existence of the Safari cookie database. If the database isn't found, it recreates a default, empty cookie database. There are no cookies in this type of default cookie database at the time it is created. You need to browse the web before cookies entries are added to the cookie database.” — Nice no-answer answer, so I asked how to remove the “empty cookie database”. Never got a response from customer service on that. — Save your money. Don’t buy PrivacyScan.
Doesn't work with chrome browser
Unfortunately the app does not delete the history for Chrome browser at all, And there is no indication that it did not function correctly. When you open the history for chrome after using the app, all of the history is still there. Seems to work normally in Firefox, and Safari. But then again how do you really know if it did it's whole job or not? If you use it a second time in a row, it shows zero threats even without deleting the history.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
