ProPublica: The Magazine

ProPublica: The Magazine is a monthly publication brought to you by the investigative journalists at ProPublica. Each month we will curate a selection of our work – from short reads to deep-dive investigations to data-driven interactives – around a theme and deliver it right to your iPad or iPhone.
At ProPublica, our mission is to produce stories that hold leaders of government, business and other institutions accountable. Our hope is that by shining a sustained spotlight on wrongdoing, we will spur change and have an impact. Whether we’re covering the environment, health care or Wall Street, that’s what you can expect from us each month.
Perhaps you’ve heard of ProPublica but have never had the chance to read one of our investigations. Or perhaps you haven’t heard of us yet. Either way, now is your chance to get a selection of our work to read uninterrupted, on your own schedule.
ProPublica: The Magazine is published monthly. It’s free to download, and subscriptions are free too.
We can be reached for feedback and questions at email@example.com.
I have had this app since it first came out... to the day almost and I am going to delete it after this comment.
At first, it was an excellent "non-biased" news app with good articles. That is not the case now. I don't like "slanted" news to promote an editor or reporter's personal agenda. All I require are facts representing both sides and I will make a determination. I don't need one sided facts missing other pertinent facts or details that I know have been left out to "steer" me towards a particular political agenda or idealism. If I need that, I will watch notorious politically slanted network news for my political indoctrination and programming. I don't want to read politically charged articles that are anti or pro Obama, anti or pro abortion, anti or pro gun, anti or pro NSA, etc. I do not feel the need for "political programming" or to be "swayed" towards someone else's beliefs or agenda. I want facts, both sides, and non-biased news. This concept has been absent the past few months with ProPublica, and I am just not interested anymore.
I will check back, periodically to see if this has changed.
Great journalism, but app needs more functionaliity
Pro Publica is great journalism. If citizens are to regain a voice in public policy, we need to be informed by journalism like this,
The app does not have complete functionality, though. The only way to archive issues is to uninstall and reinstall the entire app, redownloading the issues one wants to keep.
Repeated logins necessary
I love the work of Propublica and the articles I have read as part of the magazine have been well-written and informative. However, every time I have left my iPad and then returned while having the magazine pulled up, I have had to re-login to my Apple account. This needs to be fixed.
