Does not remember device ...
Although you are asked to "remember device" so you can bypass the security question in the future the app doesn't remember the device. You must answer a security question every time you log in. Also, there's no way to logout from the message page. Clicking on any message link takes you to the message but there's no way to navigate back to the previous page and the only link when one opens a message is a print link which is dead. Other than that I'm able to see and do everything I can on a PC.
Prudential is pathetic when it comes to offering mobile access to account information. Login credentials need to be entered every time I open the app, Touch ID is not an option. Opening the app is only good for viewing current account balances, literally there is nothing else I am able to do with this. Their mobile webpage also is an extreme headache to navigate. All other financial institutions I have dealings with have apps that offer all standard information and options. Prudential needs to reassess this. With the amount of fees I pay I fully expect a change.
I think the developers read an article about how native apps are a thing of the past, and that web-based apps are the future. Then they skipped all the parts about html5 and responsive design, identity integration frameworks, and end user testing. The result is an app that remembers you less than Safari or Chrome and feels like a WAP site.
This app is a POS. I’m stuck with Prudential thanks to my employer, but plan to tell my benefits office about BOA, Fidelity and Vanguard.
Prudential, please stop with the cute marketing campaign about selfies, retirement and obscene life expectancy, and spend some money to get the basics right.
