PUMATRAC is a unique training application for the iPhone with a modern, user-friendly design. The app is designed to motivate athletes to get training and discover ways to get the most out of a workout while having fun along the way.

With PUMATRAC, you can track more than 30 activities. Run in the rain. Cycle on Mondays. Hit your favorite gym after work. PUMATRAC tracks time, distance, pace and calories burned.

The TRAC score measures your overall performance as well as how outside conditions (weather, day of the week, and location) and personal behaviors, like music choices, effect your performance. Check the social activity feed to see how other users are performing in your area.

It’s an app that’s always thinking about your next step and challenging you on those days when you need it most. PUMATRAC comes with support for the Apple watch and the Pebble smart watch.

Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

New Cat

I’m new to running - I’m in just my 5th month. I tried another running app the last few weeks, but I grew tired of the constant nudges to move to their paid version. I think it’s quite an achievement to start running 40 years after gym class and run 5-7 miles, but somehow the other app’s feedback was making me feel lesser.

Many of my new running clothes are Puma, I just love their design and logo, so I tried their app. It’s got a clean design and has been fairly intuitive to use. Every little bit of encouragement helps when you’re pushing yourself out in the heat or cold or rain. So seeing that big B&W image on my phone helps.

I like that you can add all your other activities, but I wish you could manually enter workouts, as I never think to time them.

This came out a few years ago, so I hope it’s still supported and updated going forward. Don’t let another brand steal all the app traffic.

As a female runner in a small town, I would never share location information, but you can set that to private.

My one hitch is I haven’t gotten a milestone to unlock yet. I would really love that encouragement. It may seem silly—but to me, as I haven’t raced yet, that would be my reward.

Getting There.....

Pumatrac has improved very much but still does not have apple health intergration. Even the newer app UA Record intergrates with apple health. Audio feedback needs a better selection. Lastly, would like to customize main screen so that distance is at the top instead of time.

Good Start

Really enjoying this so far, it works well and has a clean easy to use interface. I have used many different apps to track my run and I have to say I like the way the PumaTrac App functions.

What stops it from getting 5 stars from me is the little things that need to be tweaked.

1. The GPS sometimes does not find the GPS signal. I won't say which competitor app but I have another that will at least find a weak signal and give me the option to start my run without the full signal. That would be a welcome edition.

2. Being able to manually input the information from my run would help. There are times when the signal is not great but I have a rough idea of my time and distance so being able to put in the info so it can be added to my cumulative distance/time would be a great addition.

3. Being able to pause it using the controls on my headphones is invaluable. Add that and I will give you the other star. ;)
