Putt the Planets is a fun adventure through space!
This game may seem too science-y by its title, but if you play it, then you will realize that it is all fun. You use your golf club to hit the ball though different challenging obstacles but the gravity differences makes your swing change each course. While you're having fun trying to sink your ball into each hole, you are actually learning a lot of interesting tidbits you didn't know about the planets and moons of our solar system. You also get an imaginative view of what the planets might really look like and this game makes it fun to see. The graphics are very good because they are a funny mix of realistic and cartoons and include many clever details in the surroundings. There are many amusing effects and entertaining little sounds. Mom thinks the music is a cute mix between the Brady Bunch and Star Trek. We find ourselves grabbing the iPad from each other to try to master the different courses when the other is not doing so well. Some of them are tricky! The music and short story updates keeps you smiling the "hole" time!

Multi-gravity golf is harder than you think!
(Updated for latest version) There are more than a few mini-golf games out there, but Putt the Planets mixes just the right amount of Buck Rogers space ships, astronomy trivia, and variable gravity golfing to be fun, informative, and challenging.
The controls are pinball style without the flippers, and on the first few holes, it seems like it's pretty easy. But then as you must adjust your swing to the gravity of each planet, and the holes get more complicated, it takes some real practice to get par.
The planetary landscapes are all quite distinctive and pretty realistic. You'll be reminded of the stark lighting of 2001. That's realistic. The lava streams and plumes of Io are very cool, as are the platform-based holes in the rings of Saturn.
Technically, the best graphics quality level, with nice shadows and texturing, runs very well on the 5s, while the regular graphics quality is just fine for the iPad 3, which is a little underpowered in the graphics department.
Lots of fun
I love the uniqueness that each level brings. I hate games where it's just the same thing over and over again. Here, the differences in gravity, etc requires a you to change strategy each time. Plus my kindergartener can't get enough of being in space!
