QEVLAR (pronounced kevlar) is a quiz tool for learning medical imaging. It is designed for radiology residents, physicians and medical students. There are questions from all radiology areas organized in three major categories:
- Anatomical / Organ Systems
- Image Modalities & Fundamental Knowledge
- ACGME Milestones
The QEVLAR system allows you to create your own quiz sessions to target study areas at the difficulty level you need.
A quiz session is composed of clinical cases in one or more categories. Each clinical case includes a sequence of questions that become progressively more involved and when the case is finished you can optionally see the related case notes as described by an expert radiologist.

Once you have created your quiz session, you can complete it wherever and whenever you want. QEVLAR allows seamless synchronization between your mobile device and your web based IMAIOS account. This means you can start a quiz session at your workspace, synchronize the session with your mobile phone and continue on the bus home and then merge all your results together!

When you have finished a quiz session, you can view your answers against the correct answer in the history section. Also, at any time you can view your progress in each category or general progress over time.

Some of the key features include:
- Functions offline (except for synchronization which requires an internet connection)
- Single Answer & Multi choice style questions
- Timed quiz sessions
- Further references available in the case notes
- Multiple image series/stacks for each clinical case
- Double tap to zoom and pan images for finer detail

What's New in Version 1.1.2

- Fixed crash on login for iOS8
- Fixed sync errors and crashes

Resident Perspective: Great for new ABR Core Exam prep

The questions put together in the QEVLAR app are of the greatest quality! They are very similar to the question format encountered on the new ABR Core exam. Question explanations are very thorough. The number of questions in the Qbank are reasonable to finish in a given time before the exam (unlike a certain 7000+ question bank that others often use...).

The ability to do questions on the go is an added perk! The app version is great, especially when you are traveling for your interviews in your R3 year of radiology residency. Yes, the interface can be glitchy at times. However, this is not frequent, and honestly, the glitches are worth it to see and learn from these various questions!!!

Overall, I give this app 5/5, and recommended it to all my junior residents in my program.

Great questions, poor app set up

Good questions and explanations. Poor app design. Does not save your place when you close the app and you have to scroll through every question to get to your place. While doing this the app will crash a few times. Also as it is for an iPhone, it does not rotate sideway to accommodate my iPad stand. It also does not allow you to specify how many questions you want to add to your customized quiz, it just gives you everything in the bank under the topics you pick.

Otherwise, the questions are a nice review of high yield few items that may be seen on the CORE. The explanations are very appropriate in length and content for getting through them quickly.

Great questions in the demo, but at least three times in the first eight questions I tried to do, the behavior of the interface fails the user. The app does NOT allow all the answer choices to be visible, only the first 2 or 3. When I advance to the solution, then all five possible responses are revealed. Sadly, NOT usable in its present form. A good idea that fails in poor execution. My hope is that the function can be perfected in updates.
