This has got to be my favorite puzzle game I've played in a very long time. Great atmosphere and story to piece together. The puzzles slowly introduce new mechanics in manageable and easy to learn ways, one at a time, piling them on top of each other as the game progresses. By the last stages you'll have to use every bit of knowledge to complete some puzzles!

As the completionist I am I made it my goal to perfect every level and find all the secrets before moving onto the next stage and the game's hint and feedback system makes it a fun and challenging experience. Coins can be used to buy solutions to puzzles and to reveal the locations of secrets. The more secrets found, achievements earned and levels perfected, the more coins earned, so even though the game offers the ability to buy coins and solutions, I never felt like it was some sort of necessity. Plus an in depth online guide is easy to find on GameFAQs in case you happen to run out of coins.

Fiendishly clever

I savored this game for almost a month. You can spend the better part of an evening solving some of the puzzles to perfect completion. If you don't have patience, then look elsewhere. The music background is relaxing but may lull you to sleep. There are hidden jewels and portals that lead to hidden puzzles. Some puzzles are solved quickly and teach you new objects and their behaviors. Other puzzles are very difficult to solve using the minimum number of moves. The solution is there, but if you need to spend some coins for hints or solutions, you can. No need to spend real money for IAPs. This is an excellent, well-crafted game.

My Favorite Game

I just finished my fifth pay through of Memento. I love the Quell games, but this one is my favorite so far. The aesthetic of the game is gorgeous. Wonderful graphics. The layout of the levels and story keep you engaged and curious, and the soundtrack is one of the most relaxing and beautiful I’ve heard in any game. I love playing this right before bed. It is difficult enough to distract my mind, but not so much so that it is stressful (although there are a few levels that I seem to get stuck on every time!).

I am about to start Quell: Zen, and I can’t wait to try it!
