Great app for keeping track of quotes
Before finding Quotebot I was keeping track of quotes in a OneNote notebook. The issue I ran into was organizing my growing list of quotes I liked and finding the right quote when I needed it. For the most part Quotebot solved these issues for me. There are some improvements I would really like to see added to the app though.
1) Fix tags so a tag can be more than 1 word. Currently if you try to add the tag "self improvement" it creates 2 tags. One for the word self and another for the word improvement.
2) Better search. Currently you can search your quotes by author, by tag or quotes you have favorited. But you can't search for quotes by a specific author with a certain tag. The addition of saved searches or filters would also be very welcome and would make it easy to pull up frequently used search terms.
3) I do like that I can add my own quotes or search for quotes right in the app. This seems like an area that would be perfect for adding crowd sourced quotes. When users enter a new quote they could mark it as personal or public. If public it could be added to a database for other users to discover. I have several quotes from a local executive in my collection that other users may also like. But since he isn't known worldwide and isn't a famous author none of his quotes could be found in the built in discovery tool.
Save Your Inspiration
Quotebot is straight forward app with a clean design. Navigating around and adding quotes works as you expect it. I do think the app could be a little more imaginative with additional features e.g., pictures parsed from the web of the quoted authors would be a nice touch, but overall it's solid. Quotebot delivers on surfacing key quotes when you're ready to reference them.
