Description

The Reread-Adapt and Answer-Comprehend, or RAAC, intervention is designed to help improve students’ reading fluency and reading comprehension. The RAAC combines two common reading interventions, repeated reading and question generation, into one supplemental intervention. Although the RAAC app provides materials for first through sixth grade, the intervention is most helpful for students who are reading on a first, second, or third grade reading level. The RAAC intervention was developed in 2004 by Dr. William J. Therrien and has been featured in several peer-reviewed journal articles. The RAAC app was created to make this proven and reliable reading intervention available to anyone interested in helping their student improve their reading fluency and reading comprehension. The app breaks down this intervention into simple steps and will walk you through the entire process. You will be able to view a graph of your students’ progress. For those researchers out there, you will be able to download all the raw data from the app into a spreadsheet, allowing you to use it in the unique way you need.

Ratings and Reviews

Very Helpful App!

School Psych Grad Student

I am in a specialist level school psychology program and I wish I had had this app when I started my program! It makes calculating correct words per minute (CWPM) very easy. My favorite feature is that it records each reading and makes it easy to look them up afterwards. In our program we need to have another student do a reliability check on about 25% of our readings, and the app makes it very easy to do that!

This is a great resource for CBM reading probes! I can't wait to use it with my kids.
