Used to be OK now it’s not

Stops, stalls and sputters for live stream. Miss easily a third of content tapping and closing and restarting. Out of desperation, I decided to watch live logged in on my pc and it has no problems whatsoever. So it’s the app and it’s equally bad on iPhone and iPad. Maybe the problems started when they began asking for your location so they could target advertising instead of just playing the horrible thumpity thump commercial break music. So now we can learn about all the drugs that will give you cancer or make you kill yourself but your skin will be lovely.
Rachel is available as a podcast audio the next day but not all shows are. If content is posted, the archive shows usually play ok in the app.

Love TRMS

I’m addicted to THE RACHEL MADDOW SHOW and love that that I can access it thru this app. I wish I could save episodes that I haven’t seen, much longer than they’re available. I got so confused & frustrated last August and reported my grief when 1 episode appeared twice and was labeled with two different, consecutive dates (8/14 & 8/15 possibly). They promised to fix it but it never appeared. Lastly, this app OFTEN does NOT do a good job of remembering your position in a show that was last watched. I often have to start over from the beginning.

Decent app, but has some issues

As another reviewer pointed out, the other NBC News app has an AppleTV counterpart. So why not the MSNBC app? I feel that it might address the same issue I have with using airplay from an iPad to watch live MSNBC content, where frequently the stream pauses to re-buffer. Just make this app native to the AppleTV to cut out the middle device. I also agree that their advertisements are annoyingly repetitive, and I’ve lately been seeing ads for Scientology and L Ron Hubbard, which is crazy off putting to see on MSNBC.
