Crash fix for all devices not running iOS 9
Amazing, just a few suggestions. SPOILERS*
I bought this game the day it came out. I mean, open-world survival, great graphics, smooth gameplay and it's from the makers of sky gamblers? What isn't to love about this? At first, I got bored, the game was far from complete and I got rid of it. A couple months later, I re-downloaded it and finally beat the game. Overall incredible game. Although, I wish more would be added to the story. The journal entries felt nice, but I wish there was a bit more information about the backstory of the island. I also felt that I was left hanging at the end, when you're about to walk through the "portal", nothing really happened. My guess is that you returned to the mainland, but who knows? I also wish that there was more challenging items to craft. The "tesla stick" (what I refer to it as) I found easy to craft, and not that powerful near the end of the game. I was also curious what the elevator atop the middle island fortress did. The elevator had no buttons, or any function at all. I hope it has a function in future updates. Lastly, multiplayer would be awesome. The idea of using crystals to go online and kill people is fun and all, but co-op would be even better. Anyway, great job aptypical games, keep up the good work. I'm glad to see this game on the top charts and hopefully bigger expansions (DLC's?) are on the way. 5 stars
Remarkable game with catastrophic crashes
Amazing game, tons of fun, beautiful graphics, interesting storyline, great sense of exploration and adventure. However, it suffers from occasional crashes that destroy all your work. It has happened to me 2 or 3 times now and I'm probably halfway through the game. I will be doing something mundane and the game crashes. About 1/4 of the crashes result in all items you have stored in crates to be erased forever. Essentially it wipes everything you've spent 2 digit hours accumulating. Your only hope is getting your save from iCloud if you remembered to push your save there relatively recently, but get this, the game often cannot reach iCloud for unexplained reasons. This past time it happened to me I tried to push my save to iCloud 2 times in a row and it failed both times after long delays. Then shortly after the game crashed and I lost everything. That's well over 30 crates of stuff. This should make this game eligible for the "most frustrating game of the decade" award. It's like, I want keep playing, but I don't want to spend 4 hours redoing a bunch of stuff I already did including an hours worth of inventory re-organizing which is a waste of time issue this game has. Crates are too small and storing things is annoying. Sadly, I think I'm going to have to say f this and find a less annoying game.
This is the first review of a game I've ever written. I love this game - haven't experienced any of the crashes other reviews have mentioned (playing on iPad Air). This game is like taking a vacation and being in a horror movie/survival reality show all in one. There was a learning curve at first - lots of different commands to remember - but after that, it's like few other games that immerse you so effectively. You can explore an incredible amount of terrain: climbing over mountains, wandering through meadows and forests, canoeing across lakes and rivers. Not to mention all the creepy radioactive creatures that sometimes come out of nowhere. And I love how you can chop trees, dig for treasure, and mine for necessary minerals to build tools and protective structures. I can't say enough about this - definitely play with headphones - the ambient music is great, too. Finished the game a while back and seriously considering starting a new adventure. Definitely worth the price!
Note: If you are one of those tweakers who get bored if there isn't non stop action and excitement, this game might not be for you. The game involves a lot of quiet exploration that requires a certain level of patience and maturity to appreciate.
