The missing Stations
This is an elegant looking application with a great simulated analog clock and fake static while tuning the simulated analog dial. Audio quality is quite good through my Bose USB speakers. A couple of suggestions. 1. the station call letters list is organized by State, but there are no city indications so if you are looking for a station in another state to hear local news, like New Orleans during a hurricane for example, it is hard to figure out which station to choose. 2. Here in CALI where I am familiar with the stations, it seems like the conservative AM talk stations I like are missing. Is this an accidental over site or by design? For example, KFBK is the largest news and talk station in Sacramento where I live, but it is curiously absent from the station list. So is KFI in Los Angeles, another power house talk station. Even the Political section of the ShoutCast appears to have been scrubbed of "certain points of view". I have a radio here in the room so I can still choose the local stations, but if they will not have the diversity in programming, why have the app? Many of these stations can be streamed so the radio is not really needed, but for .99 on sale, it is worth it cause it looks so cool.
Works for me perfectly, just need get used to UI a bit :)
the app is really good, the only issue with it is UI that does not match the basic Mac design, but hey! it's old radio, an UI matches this definition.
I love the sound quality and filter by country.
Good and quality stations.
Couple of hints:
To pick a random station click Radio (on)
To pick selected station click Station (on) > you'll get the list of Countries, select one > you'll reach station > star one you'd like to have in Favorites list
Through the same menu bellow you'll find Favorites
Note: rarely connection to station would not be set, still it's not app issue. My favorite stations are available all the time.
For feedback or support click Help>Feedback, drop a note and it's done.
As for improvements I'd suggest adding 3 standard btns. on the UI, we so used to them that really feel they are missing.
Also more UI themes will be much appreciated.
I love this up and it's number 1 in my list among the "radios" on my Mac.
Favorites List is Broken!
I want to like this app. The favorites will not bring up the station marked, a random station plays. Shoutcast is good about showing the broadcasters bit rate, some stations have as many as three. Higher bitrate=higher quality and more data used. This is not a iPhone app so the station results needs to be wide enough to show the bitrate, it is not. With these things repaired Radio Clock could be a nice convenience on the computer. PS. I have never seen ALL internet streamers in one app (or website) of any kind as some folks want, broadcasters are to segmented.
