Radiology 2.0: One Night in the ED

By Daniel Cornfeld

Open iTunes to buy and download apps.

One of the most innovative educational resources in the field, Radiology 2.0
presents teaching files in a way not previously seen; the 2.0 denotes the next
generation in interactive radiology education. Radiology 2.0 is a series of
cases that allow the user to simulate reading CT scans at a PACS workstation.
Extensive discussions following each case include labeled images that highlight
pathologies and relevant findings. Rather than use static images to teach
specific diagnoses, Radiology 2.0 uses stacks of CT images to actually teach
the reader how to approach and interpet CT scans. This incredible series is
available to the medical community at no charge whatsoever.

This intuitive teaching file series is perfect for Radiology residents preparing
for call, medical students in Radiology, and other physicians interested in
learning how to interpret images. All of the extensive content is
contained within the app for offline viewing. You can now learn Radiology
on-the-go and in the palm of your hand, even with a few minutes spare time
throughout the day. Once again, it is completely free and provided as a
resource for medical education.

Volume 1. One Night in the ED:

This teaching file is designed to introduce you to the CT appearance of basic Emergency Room pathology. Currently, this volume contains cases of common acute thoracic, abdominal, and pelvic pathologies. Each case is presented as a complete CT scan that you can scroll through as if at a PACS workstation.
Each case is then discussed in an interactive format. Important findings are highlighted with arrows, circles, and colorful schematics. Multiple examples of each type of pathology are presented so you can learn by repetition. Varied appearances of similar diagnoses are included. The first case in each section has a comprehensive description of the featured disorder. Subsequent cases utilize shorter descriptions and focus on the pertinent findings.

This volume includes over 7,000 high-quality images and hundreds of pages of html text.

- Dr. Daniel Cornfeld is an Assistant Professor of Diagnostic Radiology at Yale University School of Medicine.

This is really amazing. This free app has more content than any of the paid apps in radiology. It actually lets you scroll through a full CT scan like a radiologist does. Really cool for med students! And it actually shows whats going on with arrows and labels pointing to the significant findings. Much better to learn from than any textbook. My only gripe is that there is only one volume out so far from what I can tell.

Great app!! An asset to any resident or med student

I've been using this for hours a day for the past few days and I'm only on case 20! Am very impressed by the detail, ease of use and scope of this app. Can't wait for future volumes to be released and other imaging modalities to be included. Great resource for all radiology residents!

I'm on my surgery rotation and this app is awesome during call or preop. The explanations of how to interpret abdominal ct pathology are better than anything I have found online. Thank you so much for making this app and keeping it free (so that med students can actually afford it).
