App with so much potential.
Don't be fooled by the author's claim that it's not meant to be for serious drawings, it's been barely 2 hours since release and I've seen some of the most amazing images made with this app. The potential and power you can do with just a careful touch will blow your mind away.
The app purposefully does not tell you what everything does and expects you to learn carefully and make mistakes. There is no undo, and I give my blessings to that. It's like some sort of hardcore art, brutal and sharp but all worthwhile to master. Offering many different options to make your best pictures, Rafinograde dangles the possibilities in your face and patiently waits for you to discover them all.
My only reason this isn't a 5 star review? Image compression for saved canvases on iOS is absolutely awful. The iPad version has crisp, gorgeous images but the iPhone version not only adds some pretty gross antialiasing to your completed strokes but then saves it in what looks like some high compression JPEG. it's fun to play with on iPhone but hard to get the quality you can get with iPad. Even still, don't let that scare you away; it's still really fun to work with and you'll keep coming back for more.
Excellent minimal sketch app
Great app for wasting time and experimenting with grid-based drawing. Minimal UI and limited color selection keep the focus on the composition. My only real complaints are that grid snapping seems to be at 90 degrees with the odd 45 degree snap, could use an undo button, and sometimes you have to draw over a line a few times to get full saturation. That was in the launch version, I've yet to try the updated one.
Great minimalist drawing tool!
Had a great time drawing my first art piece with my wife. Unlike many other apps you can draw some very long lines without the app crashing, at least on a 6. Very natural, fat finger-friendly style algorithms for free strokes. Love it!
