RandoMeister lets you randomly pick student names (or Dolch sight words or words from whatever other list you construct) using several different methods (to accommodate the specific kind of random you need.) It also lets you create random (but editable) groups based on either the number of groups you want or the number of students you want in each group. You may even set up restrictions (behind the scenes) if there are students that you do not want ending up in the same group. Rotate to landscape in order to display names at their largest size. Create multiple classes. Get notified when everyone in your class has been drawn or view the class list to see pick-statistics for each student.
Additional support for iOS 11 (This version now contains both 32 bit and 64 bit slices.)
Ratings and Reviews
I have been an avid user of Randomeister since its inception. Support is fantastic and it works great with iOS8.
Maybe the other users that have had problems should contact the developer.
I know he responds quickly, and has in no way left the country. He is just down the hall from me teaching 3rd grade :)
It has saved me countless times when I needed to group my students quickly.
Thank you Scott for such a useful app.
Under iOS 8, I saw the same problem reported by an earlier reviewer where the app would occasionally fail to launch. I was usually able to resolve the problem by closing other open apps. I saw this same issue with apps by other developers, as well. After upgrading to iOS 9 I have not had any problems with RandoMeister… and I use it every day in my classroom.
Excellent tools for teachers
I love this app and so do my students. No more having to pull sticks to call on a student. This does the same thing, only much more fun...and no more sticks to fall on the floor or have to put back in the can. Sometimes I let students tap the next pick, and you would have thought I was giving them money! lol
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
