Raw Right Away

Open the Mac App Store to buy and download apps.
Browse faster! In Finder, select a Nikon Raw (.NEF), Canon Raw 2 (.CR2), Sony Raw (.ARW) or JPEG file and press spacebar to display the image - the system will invoke Raw Right Away to generate an enhanced preview that includes photo metadata and a graphical summary of exposure settings. Best of all: it's very fast, so you are no longer made to wait while browsing raw files.
Metadata includes shutter count for many Nikon and Sony cameras.
You can customize the appearance of previews and thumbnails (icons) in Finder with embedded captions that include timestamp, frame number, or file name.
Raw Right Away also provides several utilities accessible directly from Finder's right-click Services menu:
• Apply Camera Timestamp: restores file timestamp to the time of image capture.
• Apply World Timestamp: same as Apply Camera Timestamp, but adjusts for time zone.
• Copy Metadata: copies metadata to pasteboard so it can be pasted into an e-mail message, text document, etc.
• Export Metadata to Tags: creates Mac OS file tags from the image's embedded metadata. Makes it easier to search metadata from the Finder search box.
• Clear Exported Tags: clears Raw Right Away tags. Leaves other tags alone.
Compatibility: Raw Right Away has been tested with raw files from the following cameras:

Changes made in the Preferences dialog may have no effect under 10.9. Mavericks users are asked to use numeric code options instead. See the "Options" section of the Raw Right Away website for more information about option codes.]

Raw Right Away version 3.4.2
This is by far the fastest tool I’ve ever found to QUICKLY review and cull hundreds of RAW images. It’s rock solid and instantly available at the touch of your space bar.
Better yet, it instantly displays your RAW images at FULL SCREEN! So you can immediately cull marginally focused or motion-blurred images in your FIRST PASS.
With Raw Right Away, I sort through a thousand RAW images and cull all but the tack-sharp KEEPERS in ONE FIFTH THE TIME it takes to review/cull in my editor.
This app saves hundreds of hours by letting me instantly do “A”<—>”B” toggled RAW comparisons at FULL SCREEN and QUICKLY CHOOSE THE KEEPERS.
Raw Right Away is rock solid for me, never crashes, and is instantly available with a touch of the spacebar—Works on Nikon, Canon, & Sony RAW files.
Did the trick.
Couldn’t get NEF previews to work over the network. After much hair pulling out and not finding a free solution that worked I sucked it up and spent my hard earned $5 on this little gem. Installed, restarted finder (I use Path Finder as well) and it just… worked. NEF previews with the caption and information I wanted shown. I can’t say much more, it just works.
I wanted a quick and east way to view NEF photos on my MAC. As the software says, click the .NEF photo then tap the spacebar. Up comes the photo and metadata (& more if desired). Flawless and fast, fast, fast. Easy to see, easy to read. The best 5 bucks I ever spent.
