RB App Checker Lite helps users and developers to check code signatures and receipts for applications from any source. Did you get that application from Apple, from the App Store or from an authorized developer? Easy to tell.

It will show certificates, requirements and entitlements, embedded provisioning profiles, auxiliary executables and frameworks, cross-check all this information for consistency, and check that the application’s resources have not been altered after signing.

Check if your application is properly signed before submitting it to the App Store or publishing it elsewhere, or if the application you downloaded has been tampered with.

For your convenience, RB App Checker Lite also publishes a Service (right-click on any application in the Finder) and has a fast-select menu for all running applications.

RB App Checker will also work for Xcode archives, .ipa bundles, frameworks, command-line executables, pkg files created by Xcode, and most other bundles containing executable code. It does not use the codesign tool or any developer-exclusive software.

Ratings and Reviews

Single most important app on the App Store

This app is awesome and should be included in ever greater capacity with every mac. Knowing that your apps, commands, etc. are valid and don’t have strings, certificate issues, persmissions problems, etc. as many of mine do is critical. I’m shocked at what I’ve found simply because I bought into the false notion that Macs were inherintely secure, which they are absolutely NOT. My only complaint about this app is that the most recent veersion isn’t available and that it’s starting to have issues with Sierra since it wasn’t written fro Sierraa.

Very Handy.

This is a utility that every developer should have. Every time you use it, it will save you the minutes it takes to re-read the codesign manual page, open a terminal, mistype the command a couple of times, etc, etc. Thanks, Rainer!

App Signing Insider's Reports!

This shows a ton of interesting info for app binaries, both installed apps and ones I've built to work on. Nice explanations of what they mean too, plus warnings when appropriate. Obviously a lot of thought has gone into this.
