Minor bug fixes.
The Perfect Prescription-Upgraded!
As a reading specialist, this app is like having shelves of assessment books and binders of "go to activities" in my pocket, at my fingertips! It's great for 1:1 diagnostic and progress monitoring with students. I really like the checkboxes that automatically add up the correct answers, the automatic alert in the fluency section and the features in the word attack section, especially for the upper elementary grades. The suggested activities are also wonderful to share with parents and some can also make great independent reading practice activities to use in the classroom.
Not accurate and very difficult to read
The text is white on black. This is very difficult to read for a child, especially one with language-based reading issues such as dyslexia. There should be some option on type of font and font colors, as well as background colors. There are some inaccuracies in the scoring. When the timer is activated, it doesn't show that it is activated, therefore you push it several times. The first section shows rhyming words as pairs, the next section shows rhyming words by itself that the child has to make up a mate to. There are repeats in both section as well as repeats from the first and second section; making it a very sloppy designed product.
This is a unique reading app that's useful to have. I teach reading and have lots of books on assessment but it's definitely helpful to have word lists and quick assessments handy without having to go look for them. The app helps to pinpoint a reading problem quickly and I appreciate that everything's written out so simply. For $1 I don't think you can go wrong.
