Great Tennis Game for the iPad
Had an iTouch for about a year, and I love tennis, but I declined to buy one for screen size and they didn't sound that great. The iPad is much different, and this was the highest rated tennis game for the iPad, and the only complaints I saw were about jumpiness and frames freezing but I took a chance since other recent reviewers said they had no issues, and GLAD I did! So far, I've had zero issues; no slow or freezing frames and no crashes. The controls are good, though at first I kept lobbing too much by accident but I've got it all down pretty well now. And something they don't tell you, I was trying to swing when the ball got to me like a baseball game, but up need to get to the x where the ball will land quickly to setup for the return, then hit the swing button well before the ball gets to you (hitting swing and the move left at then same time will hit the ball left for instance). These couple of things were frustrating at first until I figured out what I was doing, but now this is one of my favorites for the iPad! Graphics are excellent with small details like the ball will leave marks on the court that stay for the game. It's a lot of fun for a tennis fan. Now I hope they will add a few more players/characters (about 6 or 7 male & same # for female right now; would be nice to double or triple that).
Good game - please improve controls
I don't see what people are complaing about. This is a great game. Its fun to play and definitely worth 5 bucks, with multiplayer and everything. The frame rate could do with improvement but it would only be s bonus the game is cool as is.
Back to continue the review. Actually, it is a bit hard to manage the arrow head control to move the player. Isntead, it would be super to make it so that you could drag anywhere on the screen to move the player. Have a look at the game tetris to see how the piece is moved as it is falling down... You could make it so that when you drag in the left part, the player moves in the direction of the drag. Im surprised its not like that to begin with...
Great Game - confused by negative reviews
Don't usually write reviews but am complelled to write one because some of the negative reviews almost convinced me to not buy it. Quite simply put this is a great game, fun to play and challenging without being overly difficult. I play it on an Ipad 1 and have not had any issues with frame rate or choppiness. Had a couple of crashes but nothing major. The only major drawback is that you can't save a game in the middle of a match ... since a full match can take 20 minutes or more to play it's very inconvenient to have to play a whole game through in order to save it.
Other than that this a fun game and definitely worth the $5.
