Description

Our team spent almost two years researching the best photo locations in the world. On top of that, we had thousands of photographers around the world submit their favorite photo locations.

The result is Really Good Photo Spot--an unmatched database of incredible places around the world to take photos--with spots in nearly every country on the planet.

The app makes it easy to find locations near you, search locations in a far-off place, or submit your own locations.

With the premium features upgrade, you can remove ads, save spots for offline access when you're in the field shooting, create and organize spots into "trips", and get powerful advanced search tools like searching by star rating and distance.

Plus, you can create a profile and offer day trips in your area when other photographers see your work and want to hire you to show you around.

Really Wanted to Like

I listen to the podcast and I Really wanted to like this app and was so ready to upgrade to the paid version. But I just don’t see how I can use the app very well.

My issue is the same that some others have indicated. By choosing to NOT have a map display of all results, I just can’t tell which location are near each other. So I can’t plan on which locations to visit. If the app had a map view, I could find the one location I would really like to visit, then see what other locations may be nearby or on the way driving to that location. Without a map feature, I just don’t find myself using the app.

A map feature would make it worth paying for, but I know many people would like to try out the feature before purchasing. I will keep checking to see if you are able to improve it, but I know it would be expensive to modify.

Good app, UI is extremely rudimental

I don’t really like his podcast because many of his opinions are against mine and he just seems pretentious and always interrupts his guest speakers. But this app is ok.

The idea of this app is really good, and this app does almost everything it intends to. But I find the user experience extremely poor. The interface is like a 19th century 586 computer software, GPS acquisition takes a long time, and I don't believe its limited by iPhone's hardware because other apps that need very exact coordinates are so much faster than this app, which I imagine only need a rough location. The search tab need much work, when I type in "chi" it started to suggest foreign unheard-of cities instead of Chicago. It's also very annoying and confusing that type in "return" doesn't take me directly to search results, instead I need to close keyboard, click on the search button; quite often this didn't work either, and I had to summon the key board, click "return" again, and click that big old search button again.

Almost there...

The app itself is a great idea. Crowed funding excellent shooting locations... However, there are issues with it. First the filtering does not seem to work. It defaults to four and five star locations yet one star locations show up in the feed.

I would also like to be able to add additional information to an entry, but I’ve been unable to find any way to do this. Especially when the information that needs to be added would help individuals get better shots.

I also agree with one of the raters who said a map function would be useful, For example a search near my house can return a several locations that are within the same distance but you have no way of knowing if both are in the same direction. If one is to the south and one is to the north...you have a major issue if you want to shoot both.
