Recoleta Cemetery ranks as one of the top attractions in Buenos Aires thanks to its occupants & their eternal sense of style.
With this app learn about the history of the cemetery, consult meanings of common symbols, then explore 25 of the most interesting mausoleums.
Includes over 70 color and archival photos.
The elite, the not-so-elite, friends, enemies, & those who contributed to the general welfare of Argentina all share space in a miniature city of mausoleums & monuments. There's much more to see in addition to the final resting place of Eva Perón, & this app will help you understand why. A mix of architecture, historical figures & urban legends may make you want to stay permanently!
I risked to purchase this expensive app right before going to cemetery and unfortunately it is not worth the money.
Recoleta us an amazing large cemetery which you can spend hours exploring. The app is very limited , it only covers 25 crypts. I would expect much more inclusive searchable directory with comprehensive map.
I would consider this application OK if it were a free limited edition trial, upgradable for a more complete version with a full tombs listing and a map.
I am thinking of requesting a refund actually.... it was a great experience to visit Recoleta cemetery, but quite frustrating to see so many beautiful gravestones and not being able to look them up using the app. You can find much more in the travel guide or by purchasing a map at the cemetery for$2US.
Great app for a self-guided tour of Recoleta
Very informative app and extremely simple to use. Also, crucial to have something that can be used offline to avoid international data roaming charges. I paid $4.99 and thought it was well worth it for a self-contained interactive guide. Thanks for this app!
Unless you go with a tour, there are no audio/written guides given at the cemetery. Think of this as a $5 investment to make your visit more educational and interesting. The app is not worth the money per se, but seeing there are good alternatives (unless you buy a book before hand or study first) it’s what you gotta do.
