This app is game-like and educational because it helps children understand words (word comprehension) and how to relate them with others in the same topic. The design of the app and the content is fairly simple; it presents the words on a plain white background, so it’s just different words and categories; however, the words and categories are very interesting. If I were to alter one or more of the characteristics of the app, I would modify the app by using words on some levels and pictures on others for visual matching help. The app is innovative because it’s a fun game that a whole family (the target audience is children to adults) could play while still learning. From the screenshots, one can see that the app is easy to navigate since there’s only three categories to match four words with, and then there’s the red herring category where the words that don’t fit go. The app is free, but you can pay for hints. Lastly, the rating of this app is 5 out of 5 because it’s a FANTASTIC game! :)
3 stars one gripe
Absolutely love this game - and have been playing it on iOS for a long time. Just found the OS X version - was glad to find it - would give it 5+ stars but for one thing . . . they don’t allow your purchased packs to cross platform. Other apps, granted not many, have indeed designed their apps so the iOS and OS X versions can communicate - not that they even need to do that, but just to have their records have access so they know who has paid for what packs at their end and can spit them out to both iOS and OS X . . . really not that difficult, and certainly not impossible . . .
I can’t see my way to re-paying for any packs that I’ve already paid for - sorry guys . . . will raise my rating to the hilt and remove my gripe when my purchases can be recognized on both platforms.
Makes you think!
A fun game of categorizing words by some common factor. The Easy level is very easy, and good for kids, the Hard level is the one that makes adults think, while the middle level is there to help when you get stuck on the Hard level. I love word games but can’t spell, so all scrabble type games are not good for me. This one is engrossing and relaxing all at the same time.
