Set on the surface of Mars, Red Planet is a stunning sci-fi 'ambient adventure' featuring an atmospheric soundtrack by Christopher Franke (one of the original members of Tangerine Dream and composer for the television series Babylon 5).
Explore the Martian landscape in 3D and watch the shadows gradually changing as Red Planet's real-time lighting simulates the sunrises and sunsets of Mars - down to the subtle blue-shifted haze that surrounds the sun, as seen from the Martian surface over a hundred million kilometers away.
Setting the scene in Huygen's Crater, this first installment of Red Planet features a simple objective - locate the transmitter base and reactivate the signal to ensure your return to Earth!
Objectives aside, you can take your time to enjoy the scenery and the evocative soundtrack.
Red Planet is a unique app, that will take fans of sci-fi to another world.

What's New in Version 1.1
Changes made due to legal/contractual reasons
This game is clearly just a demo
This game is just a sample level the designers made to try to build interest in a full game. There is only one mission, and it is kind of slow and dreary. Once you figure out the puzzle it's tedious to wait for the slow motion of your character and everything else. Imagine a FPS like Doom but without shooting and where everything moves in slow motion -- and there is only one, easy level. That's what this game is.
The graphics are cool and the theme and ambiance is cool, but this needs a lot of tuning before it's ready for prime time -- and before I'd pay any money for it. But there is potential here. If this were developed into a full game I'd come back and look at it.
Disapointing waste of money
Really poor design left me feeling bad that I wasted my time/resources on it. To say that it was disapointing is a vaste understatement. More like it sucked harder than a strong vacuum cleaner. There are so many better apps out there! It wouldn't have taken much to make this decent with a useable interface, but I guess that they stopped at the glitzy graphics and couldn't be bothered to make something that was actually useable. Whoever coded/created this app should get a F- for the GUI.
The game was very fun and immersive. The graphics were also impressive. Way too short though and to little features. I would still recommend getting it though.
