Reddit: The Official App

By reddit

Open iTunes to buy and download apps.

Funny cat photos, trending news stories, and the best discussions on the internet—these are just a few of the awesome things the official Reddit app does best.

On Reddit, there’s a community for every subject imaginable: your favorite sports team, relationship advice, memes, the latest in news and politics—all in real time.

And if you like gifs (or jifs, jiffys, glyphs, ifs, however you choose to mispronounce it), we’re positive you'll love it.

What’s that you say, girl? “What about a community dedicated solely to images of cats standing on their hind legs?”

We got that, too.

Whether you’re into movies or space travel, baking or weight training, cheesy dad jokes, world news or Hollywood gossip—or all of the above—you can instantly share your content and ideas with an audience of millions.

We’re not saying Reddit is like all your favorite apps put together. But if we were saying that, we’d tell you it has:

• the trendy headlines of Twitter
• the educational content of Quora
• the viral pics of Memebase and Imgur
• the jokesters of Tumblr
• the lols of 9GAG and theCHIVE
• the cringeworthy personal stories of FML and Fail Blog
• the rage comics of fourchan
• and the powerful, human stories found only on Reddit.

(Oops, we went full circle.)

So the next time you’re bored and need a break—wait, you’re bored right now? Why are you still reading this? Download the app already!

Those cats won’t stand on their hind legs forever...

Free The Donald

I appreciate the collective-cult following that reddit has and the cerebral commenting that takes place but i am very dismayed you are censoring the_donald. You could make an algorithm around making td's posts less frequent while still allowing it to have stickies. By doing all you did regarding td and stickies and making stickies voided from circulating and counting it towards td's allotted all appearances, you have effectively eliminated stickies. Stickies are good for breaking news. Voting organically will delay discussions on hot topics that would have otherwise been stickies. When trump was named person of the year, i reflexively went to td to rejoice and had trouble finding a post to discuss this breaking story because it could not be stickies. Before your meddling, it would have been #1 once i switched to it as a sub-reddit. FREE TD PARTIALLY WITH LETTING US HAVE STICKIES AGAIN!

One of us... One of us...

I spent a long time refusing to use Reddit. I always figured it was like so many other sites that just upvote and promote random illogical content.
When I first decided to finally just check out what Reddit is I immediately felt the loss from years of ignoring this wonderful place.
Intelligence, discussions, funny and interesting content everywhere. You still get your internet trolls but it feels much less abrasive than other sites, and you are free to subscribe to subreddits of any kind of your choosing, and speak and learn from other like minded individuals.

If you haven't used Reddit yet or this app honestly you're missing out. Once I started using Reddit I realized how much better this community was than any other site I've been to. Download it, you'll love it!

Almost love 5 stars

I've had the premium app for a couple of years after first downloading the free version and being upgraded for free. I love the functionality and navigation features minus one thing... before I upgraded my iPhone to a 6 Plus from a 5C, I was able to swipe forward if I accidentally swiped back on the app to the subscriptions page and it would automatically bring me back to the exact place that I was on, on which ever subreddit I was currently scrolling through, after upgrading it seems that this feature has been removed and I am no longer able to swipe forward to go back to the current page/place in the sub that I viewing before mistakenly swiping back. Besides this the app is wonderful and I prefer to use this app rather than viewing the site on my computer.
