Will definitely get your heart pumping
This is a fun little game with a very simple premise: shut down the reactors and make your escape. But randomly generated levels and time limits make each playthrough a hectic game of memory and strategy. The clock is always ticking and if you decide not to spend time looking for fire extinguishers, you may find yourself doing a lot of backtracking trying to access an area. I was surprised at how much variety you get by tweaking a few variables. It's amazing how well this game is able to evoke stress and tension simply by hiding the timer. Though there are clear cues that you are running out of time, it's always an intense rush for the exit when you finally clear a level. Lots of fun and super cheap. At a dollar it's a no-brainer.
Make no mistake: this game is no pushover. Redshift is a good game provided you want a challenge, and I mean that in two ways. Way One: there's a tight time limit, a relatively unhelpful map tool, and lots to slow you down. Way Two: the user interface is kinda clunky -- "transit" hotspots are finicky on position, and instead of a single action button, there's an unnecessary second, which slows you down. But if you're looking for short-play challenge, this is a good game for it.
omg don't asplode!
Creates a sense of urgency immediately. It's hard to remember to breathe while you're playing, and easy to one-more-time yourself into playing for hours. Very fun!
