One More Step Back for Reeder
Reeder 3 removes the ability to send an article to a bookmarking service (Pinboard, Instapaper, etc.) from the article itself. This must be done from the article list view before the article is opened. This is especially a problem when the listed article only contains a link to another article that you want to bookmark, meaning you have to open it in Safari and go through extra steps.
This issue has been the biggest deficiency with the iPhone version of Reeder, yet, rather than fix the problem there, the developer has chosen to replicate the problem on the iPad. It makes Reeder an annoyance to use. On top of that, the developer has pointlessly and arbitrarily moved the Mark All as Read button. I can live with changes, but not pointless changes.
Reeder 3 is pretty, though; I guess that makes up for stripping out useful features. I'll be going back to Mr. Reader to actually read my RSS feeds.
Long time user
I've been using Reeder since version 1 and absolutely love it. It's the my most used app. Really like v3 but REALLY wished the 'mark all read' button stayed on the bottom left corner instead of moving to the right corner. As someone who primarily holds my iPhone 6 with my left hand, the old location of the button was better. I can understand how the new location helps people who hold it with their right hand.
Perhaps, Silvio can make the location of the button configurable in the settings? Please? :)
List view only?
First off, I love this app. I use it daily. It's one of the few customizable news regrets that offer wonderful design as well as functionality in a holly matrimony. The fact that it downloads the articles for offline use is amazing. My only gripe is the limited viewing options for the actual article list. It seems there's only a list view which is disappointing. I wish more could be offered there perhaps a magazine view or the few that feedly offers, though this is still a much better app than that. Otherwise, thanks for this wonderful app.
