Best Communication App Ever
This app is truly amazing and time efficient for busy parents with multiple children in different schools. I have been using this app the entire time my 9-year-old has been in public school. I am able to send notes to my sons teacher which arrive in the form of a text message. His teacher receives them immediately and can respond back just as fast. We find ourselves texting each other often to keep that constant line of communication open about progress, behaviors, etc. my son also has a diagnosis of ADHD so I have to speak with his teacher often about incidents throughout the day. I feel this is a great way for educators to stay in contact with the parents. Some kids need more attention than others and this app affords them the opportunity. This is definitely a must have for the parent-teacher relationship. Also, whoever downloads the app and registers with their child’s class will be able to post in the group forum. This is great for planning birthday parties or cool surprises. The parents can also chat amongst each other as well. The capabilities of this app are endless. Inform your child’s school today and keep tabs on your kids like never before! My son knows that every time he looks sideways...I’m going to find out about it! Best feeling ever! Enjoy!
City of brotherly love loves Remind!!!
I began using the remind app back in 2013 and parents were completely excited and surprised with how the app was able to connect school, teachers, and parents. Now that it is six years later I teach middle school and it has been essential to use the remind app not only to give reminders to parents about upcoming events at school but also to use it as a platform to communicate with parents when assignments are missing or if their student is not performing to the best of their potential and I love the fact that I can send parents photos of their children while they’re at school having a good time. The remind app has offered parents a window into our little school house on a daily basis. If you haven’t used remind app yet as strongly encourage you to offer this means of communication to your parents and you’ll see the benefits of the parents trusting you and being aware of things ahead of time and just the natural relationship that becomes one of mutual respect when parents and teachers were together! THANK YOU REMIND APP! 🤩🥳🤓
Great for teachers
I love this app. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because I think you should be able to send longer messages. I often have to send 3 messages to relay the week’s reminders, which is annoying to me and the parents. Also, I have to keep a parent contact log and I wish there was a way to sort the dates of messages sent directly to the parents that aren’t whole class messages. I have to go into each parent and do them one by one and it takes forever- so a sort drop down menu filter would be nice.
What’s great? The fact you can go back and look at old messages. I actually had a parent try to sue our school because she said her child slipped on the bathroom floor and lost a permanent tooth. On the day her daughter was playing with the sink water, she did slip and lose a tooth, but her mom texted me through remind and said, “ thank goodness the doctors said it was a baby tooth, her permanent one is getting close to coming in.” Lawsuit saved! I also like that it lets you attach pics. I often take pics of school flyers or homework sheets and send.
Developer Response ,
Great feedback! Thank you for sharing! We are glad it has been so beneficial! Additionally, a regular SMS message is limited to 160 characters by cell carriers. We use 20 for your class name or signature, which leaves the remaining 140 characters for your message. We've just launched a couple Remind Plans that include new features like much higher character limits and phone calls. If you think your administration might be interested in upgrading to a School or District Plan, you can send them here: remind.com/plans.
