“Jessica D, a teacher in Louisiana, uses Remind daily to brief parents on whether their children did well in class and what their homework is for the night. She says the app has led more students to complete their homework and even credits it with improving scores on standardized tests. “The word I use is ‘transform,’ ” she says. “It transformed my classroom. And I think it made me a better teacher.” – Bloomberg Businessweek
“…Remind’s features have proved especially popular in low-income districts, where parent engagement is a key issue for teachers, and parents’ sometimes erratic work schedules can make it difficult to get in touch by phone.” – Buzzfeed

Such a fantastic tool
I'm so happy with this app and so are all of my students' parents. I love that I can send a text right in the middle of class when a student hasn't completed an assignment or needs to get a message home for any reason. I teach middle school and the feedback I've received from this has been completely positive.
I agree that the group message restrictions of so few characters can be frustrating. So, I write my full message on the board, take a pic, and send that. Voila, problem solved.
UPDATE: One other minor complaint- Because you can never delete messages, (which I do think is important), those individual parents who you talk with A LOT will eventually take FOREVER to load (up to 45 seconds... Which doesn't seem like much but as a teacher, 45 seconds is precious and therefore too long). I have to wait for all the old messages to load every time I need to send a quick note to a parent. I admit, this is making me reconsider sending messages to those parents just because I know it is going to take so long to load. I love this app for its reliable communication... However, I think this is beginning to limit its reliability.
The app is super convenient and easy to use. Coaches can get messages to players without group messages and the hassle of everyone receiving the replies to announcements. Definitely a must have for coaches.
Major complaint is that you can only enter 140 characters per message. It explains that this is because of the carrier, and there's not much they can do about it. I would LOVE it if it would automatically send the message as multiple texts once you have over 140 characters.
Love this app with one thing to say
I have only one thing to say which is I think it would be nice to be able to remove or clear messages in your inbox for example I have a class which I dropped and now I am unable to remove the inbox notications I got from that class which is a real inconvenience
