Remixlive - Make Music & Beats 4+

I tried Remixlive back in 2017 when it was all about looping. I kept it as an experimenter, but not a daily driver, since I preferred to make original music instead of using loops.

But 6 years later I come back and it’s a whole different app. Not only is looping an option, but now you can also create original melodies, drum patterns, basslines, and chord sequences! It’s amazing! Now I use this app more frequently because I can now create something unique and original with it, and it’s been awesome to see your app grow. Remixlive is definitely much more of an option now, and your MacOS version has been converted perfectly as well.

That being said, there could be a bit of a better way to change the pitch of melodic instruments’ notes; The current system is quite finicky. It’s usable, and it’s good, but could use some improvements. Maybe you should add individual grid lines for each semitone you transpose it, or use a slider on the left-hand menu or something like that. Also, it would be very convenient if you could record vocals inside Remixlive. Those two issues are the only turnoffs from this app; otherwise, this app is pretty high up on my list of iPad music making apps! (Definitely higher than Music Maker Go…)

Love it.. if you are songwriter like myself or producer and you still have other things that you’re doing during the day .. it could be a 9-5 full-time job but anytime you get free time or while you’re at work you have inspiration of songs to produce and or write. This is super perfect for you. I’m able to get the idea out and it helps me get the genre that I want right away, the samples are excellent quality very easy to navigate and operate it’s a must have! Also, if you are a DJ you can plug this up next to your rig and if you just wanna play music and get the crowd hype or just move into another song, there’s perfect quality samples on here that you can make a song from scratch right on the spot live and then move in and out of your playlist

So, I been using this for a while. Never should’ve updated it! Can’t run multiple sequences in same channel no more. Hold the line on a pitch change and it changes the whole row! Why?? That’s sabotage! Forget all that time I spent tryin to get it to sound good! Can’t export sequences. Can’t export midi sounds, only loops. Can’t run sequences across other packs, only their loops, again. This got me into making music tgl. But as a producer it’s gettin harder to take this app seriously as an assistant more so than it’s just for entertainment on the toilet. Don’t get me wrong you can make bangers on this app. But that’s a lotta money to lock us out! And why not let us access ALL the midi for every loop you show? Why not let the sound from one sequence import into another pack as was? It changes to a sound from the current pack. Making the move pointless. Lastly, don’t drops packs with no instruments on the drum pad bcuz then we can’t make a sequence with it. That’s not producer friendly. I throw those packs in the trash. I’m not getting my full value per dollar. After a couple years it’s just cheaper to buy FL Studio or even Pro Tools. Why make it harder for us to work if you’re tryin to help our workflow stay smooth? I’m prolly not gonna reup after this year is up. Just gonna stick with my laptop. It’s got all the stuff I need. Otherwise I just get a plugin for my DAW on what new sounds drop.
