First of all, I’m pretty good at this game, but I’m no Reversi genius. I can easily beat this version on level ten, meaning it’s not a very good Ai.
Then there is this issue with the way it chooses to draw.
I have this game on the ropes by cornering it into not having any moves to choose from... I get two corners and two edges between those corners, taken (by me), and the computer has much of the board covered, with none of my pieces in the way.
This means that all I have to do is flip the rest of the board until I win. The computer has no choice but to pass because it has no moves. Other games not only allow this, but it is a common tactic to win.
This game calls it an automatic draw when it runs out of moves.
What the heck is that????
