Under the hood, Revisions relies on functionality already built into Dropbox: For all accounts (including free accounts), Dropbox stores all versions of all your files for the past 30 days. Users with Extended Version History get one year of history, while Dropbox for Business users (and legacy 'packrat' users) have unlimited history. Revisions allows you to access and make use of all this data of yours with an intuitive interface.
Revisions lets you use a variety of external apps to show the details of individual file edits: Kaleidoscope, Changes, Araxis Merge, BBEdit, and TextWrangler are natively supported, and others (such as FileMerge) can be connected via a custom script. Each of these apps can show the detailed edits (inserts, deletions, and modifications) made to text files. Some can also highlight edits made in image files.
The basic version of the app is free, with all of the functionality described above. The premium version (available via in-app purchase) adds the ability to show the identity of the editing user and to ignore files or folders based on filename or extension, and includes priority support. I am actively working on adding further power-user features to the premium package.

What's New in Version 2.2
You can now easily search for edits by filename and by edit type (created, modified, or deleted), in addition to specifying a date range. This functionality is available to all Premium users and to any users who share their opinion of the app with friends, colleagues, or family. Premium users can additionally search by editing user. The update includes a number of minor fixes and performance improvements.

Nice Diff Utility (so far)
Just started using this app, but it seems to be a nice little diff utility at the folder/file level. The process for syncing with my dropbox was a little buggy at first: after authenticating my dropbox account in my browser, clicking the link to go back to the Revisions app did nothing until after a couple of tries and restarts of the Revisions app; however, this could also have been, in part or entirely, a function of my wifi connection and not the app’s fault. Other than that, it has worked pretty well and has yet to take up a significant amount of RAM (around 70mb-75mb), even during the initial file sync process.
**TLDR: So far so good: light weight diff utility for dropbox. Works as advertised.**
looking to replace chrome dropbox diff plugin with this app
This app works well to show the times and dates of last revisions…
I’m currently trying to get the diff functionality to work correctly-
At the moment, it creates multiple files (myfile-earlier, myfile-later), but just opens then with the default application (text editor).
However, the demo shows “Kaleidoscope” being used to the do the diffmerge, but that’s a $70 app.
I normally use “Diffmerge”, so I’m trying to figure out how to point to this application in some settings file.
Would be good to document this somewhere (couldn’t find a readily available FAQ).
UPDATE - IT WORKS!
Okay- there’s a settings button (gear) at the bottom - doy!- and you can change the preferences for the “viewing details of edits” to use different programs.
Unfortunately Diffmerge wasn’t listed, and the option for “custom script” is greyed out (even paid for premium version).
BUT TextWrangler is listed as a default and was a free download form the mac app store, and that worked out okay.

This app asks for a review before it will unlock the search function. The app looks fantastic as far as logging user interaction with Dropbox. The developer came up with a unique timeline interface that takes only a few minutes to understand. I recently had a glitch with Dropbox where I opened a very old MacBook and it synchronized a bunch of old folders back into Dropbox (nothing overwritten AFAIK, just added back folders I had deleted). Revisions is helping me track down all the revenants but I need the search function to find whether a particular file was moved. If it works I will come back and add another star.
