Top 5 Most Used App - Needs More Intelligence
Like this app a lot, use it nearly every day. But sometimes feel that the information could be smarter. For example if I take a train out of NYP and connect through Secaucus, if my connecting train is at 5:25, the app will find me the train that leaves from NYP that gives me the shortest connecting time. In most cases this is a good thing but with SEC the outbound trains are on one level and the northbound trains are on another level. So if I take the train that is suggested I have to hurry and run full speed sometimes to catch my connection. If the app chose the train that left a little earlier out of NYP, I wouldn't have to hurry so much in SEC.
Also if you added track numbers to the trains that would be helpful as well. Outside of these issues, it's a really good app. Keep up the good work.
All around, an excellent app
I've been using this for many years now and still find it to be one of the best at what it does. The ability to cleanly provide routes that include more than one line, for instance if you're taking the light rail from an outing in JC to Hoboken and then need to catch a train are very well implemented and minimize the amount of waiting for transfers. I have and continue to highly recommend this one.
One tip - if you don't use it frequently but expect you will need it after a night out, open it up ahead of time so it can pull down the updated schedules, so you won't have to wait for that when you're trying to figure out what train to catch.
My One, Big Issue
This app has saved me from many scheduling headaches; however, I have one -personally crucial- issue:
Can we chose our transfer points?? I have a very long commute across the M&E and NEC lines that sometimes has me traveling during the night. Since the app started including the light rail lines, the NLR has become the "default" transfer point. I would prefer to have the option to see the Secaucus times since I feel uncomfortable using Newark so late at night. Having this option would save me a lot of guesswork and I don't mind a longer waiting period if I feel safe where I get off.
