Riders from Turin to Portland are using Ride Report to make biking better. Every trip you take contributes to your city's Bike Stress Map, which shows the best and worst routes according to real people.

You can use Ride Report completely anonymously without providing any personal information. Your ride logs are stored securely and are never shared with third parties unless you explicitly share them. Ride Report shares some anonymous, aggregate information with cities and other organizations to help improve bike routes and encourage more people to bike. You can learn more on our support website, http://help.ride.report.

Ride Report requires iOS 8.4 or later. Ride Report runs best using an iPhone 5 or newer.

Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. Ride Report is built to minimize battery drain by using GPS only while you are taking a trip. For most users, you can leave Ride Report running all the time and you won't even notice the impact on your battery. You can also temporarily pause Ride Report from within the app.

Good concept, still needs fine tuning

I love the idea of this app and have been using it for about 9 months, happy to see that I’ve logged over 700 rides! Love seeing my mode split over time and even though the trophies are a bit silly I do like it, it’s fun to get some props! Like others have suggested, I did want a middle ground for rating rides so I’m glad “mixed” was added.

The major bummer for me is that it constantly mixes up my travel modes. I do switch between modes a lot — bike/train/ferry/bus — and unfortunately the app has a hard time distinguishing between modes. Which then means if I want accurate reporting I have to go in and fix it, just about every day, which defeats the purpose of a “hands-off” app. I love not having to start and stop the app but maybe it needs some manual control options if it’s not going to track the modes properly.

Also sometimes it doesn’t start up right away. I’m not doing long rides, usually just short 1-3 mile trips to do kid drop offs or run errands or hook up to transit. So if it misses the first 5-10 min of my ride then that’s pretty significant. It would be nice to be able to go in and fix this when it happens though again that means it’s not as hands-off as it could be.

Regardless, thanks for making this and making it easy to connect to other apps and competition programs!

Great concept but issues

I’ve been using Ride Report for awhile (almost a year now) and love the idea of not having to start and stop recording like you do with other tracking apps.

However, there are some major issues with it that are making me rethink Ride Report as my main tracker. The biggest is that it rarely will start accurately recording rides soon after you start. It likes to draw a straight line between your starting point and where you are 10 or 15 minutes into the ride. Because of this I’ll miss up to a mile from every ride. Add this up over a month and it means Ride Report is under recording my total distance by about 30 miles.

I’m going to go with a different app for awhile, but I’ll keep checking in to see whether this issue has improved.

Accurate tracking, no drain on batt

Used the app for a year and over 1500 miles in over 800 rides. I love that it automatically records rides without having to do anything. I leave it open all the time. I’ve had no battery problems. It's gotten progressively better with upgrades. I like the new other trip classifications, so I can sort out ski runs.
