Getting worse! Not better
Ring used to be the answer to all my security problems. Brought doorbells and floodlights. Cancelled my alarm service to go with Ring’. Never happened. Now the Ring products I do have are undependable. Lights come on all night for no reason. I turned them to ‘people only’. Have light setting off. Still comes back on every time I turn them off. People walk all around my house and maybe only one camera in backyard alerts me. Also, my floodlight cams on the back used to have clear pictures. This new follow the motion does not allow me to identify the person on my floodlights or doorbell 2. Only the original doorbell is clear. Not sure I want to invest further in ring. Especially since it looks like it may not get HomeKit compatibility. Need an alarm before the end of this month for insurance purposes. I was dedicated to Ring. Looking for other products for two homes.
Wanted you to know the best thing about Ring is their prompt response and service. Was able to get a service callback on my problems that started March 1st also. Evidently it was some of my floodlights not properly taking software upgrades. I wish they would post on their systems troubles page when they have upgrades. Some companies even email about the upgrades. At least then we know to expect there might be problems. Thanks again for your prompt responses. Upgraded to a 4. Will see if you get a 5 soon.
I'm sorry to hear this! We’re working on bringing HomeKit integration to Ring Pro and Floodlight Cam, and we’re excited to expand our partnership with Apple HomeKit and bring HomeKit integration to our other devices down the line. We don’t have a release date just yet, but you’ll definitely be the first to know once it’s launched! If you would like to address this further, feel free to reach out to me directly at email@example.com.

No idea what these bad reviews are all about !
I’ve had my Ring doorbell Pro set up for a few weeks now and I’ve got to say this thing is amazing. I’m not having any issues what so ever and cannot understand were these horribly negative reviews are coming from. The resolution is incredible and the field of view covers my entire front yard and driveway. The app works flawlessly with maybe a second or two delay when motion is detected and it alerts me. I think people need to take the time to set everything up properly especially setting up multiple zones for motion detection to make it run more seamlessly. Furthermore since it’s WiFi based your router and connection should be up to snuff or you will most certainly have issues. Not a product flaw whatsoever. During peek usage times since most internet is shared in a neighborhood you may notice a bit of a delay when talking to someone at the doorbell but that is by no means a flaw in the product. Before leaving negative reviews people should take the time to make sure there voltage is correct, WiFi is at an acceptable speed to use the product and the doorbell is set up correctly with multiple motion zones. I also purchased a spotlight cam as well and I’m assuming it will work just as flawlessly as my Ring doorbell pro with proper installation and setup !
I thought this ring product would help with seeing who’s coming in my property to deliver, guest coming over etc... Oh yes, I can see partially who after the fact. What’s the point in having live viewing after a package has been delivered, guest after they walk away etc... This now seems like a ploy to get people’s hard earned money for an iffy product.
More developer work needs attention to the quality and functionality of the doorbell etc... Half the time the video will show dark or washed out when it starts playing then get clear a few seconds later and not revealing anything worth seeing. You make the commercials look great and inviting but in real life, it’s not as clear and real time as falsely advertised.
I will no longer encourage ANYONE to get these products until you all fix or come out with better quality products and fix the app. This review is for any and everyone considering Ring and that has Ring who’s experiencing multiple issues. By the way, I have read the instructions on how to use and maintain the app, spoke with Ring support, did troubleshooting steps and had the unit replaced. This and the replacement Ring was professionally installed.
Please attend to these issues if you expect to keep and remain getting new customers. In the meantime I’ll have to spend extra money on another product to see if it’ll do a better job. SMH
