I really like the Ring system. However, the App is lacking one major feature that makes it significantly more difficult to use than it has to be. I have forwarded several suggestions to Ring support relative to this feature and they have been, thus far, non committal in their responses. Specifically, the Ring App has no ability to allow the user to delete multiple recorded video segments at the same time. Thus, the user has to select each segment to delete then confirm each delete once again before the segment is actually deleted. It would be significantly easier to mark all the desired segments to delete, then just delete them in bulk as opposed to being required to endure a multiple step deletion procedure for each. One would not think it problematic for Ring to include this capability in their App. I find it a somewhat amazing omission that this feature, that would truly enhance customer usability, was not included in the current version of the Ring App.

Love the hardware but the App needs improvement!

Meh - Better concept than execution

I love the idea of a video doorbell, but have a hard time recommending this one. There are too many gotchas and issues.

We bought the Ring Pro, installed it and... it didn't work. After dealing with support, we had to upgrade our internet to get reliable recordings and Live View because the $250 doorbell could do any quality conversion of its own: if you couldn't upload at 2 Mbps, it would fail completely. Don't even try the Pro unless you meet that minimum or you'll suffer glitchy green videos or black loading screens nonstop.

Then it started shutting itself off when it got cold outside and not turning on until I power-cycled it at the breaker box. Support sent a replacement Power Pak, which didn't help, and I may need to replace the transformer.

Then it got stuck in night vision mode, so every recording (even during the sunny day) ended up in black and white. This is inconsistent... sometimes it fixes itself, sometimes it requires a reboot.

Now, the latest firmware seems to have a bug that keeps the IR LEDs on permanently.

Support is fairly responsive and I normally get an answer within a day, but it feels like I am contacting them constantly for some new problem I'm running into.

When it works, it's really cool, but the problems really put a damper on it overall.

Must have!! Great gift!!

Update Wanted to add that I think the stick up camera is missing a key feature. The ability to add and remove users on a whim. I know you can remove them, but they must go through the whole set up process to reinstate them as users. It should be as simple as a toggle on and off. Having teenagers and being a single parent, I don't want them to have total access to the backyard I do love my ring doorbell so much I decided to get the stick up camera for the backyard. I think it is even better since nobody can really see what goes on in your backyard with high fences. With the stick up cam I can look at any time through live view. Or if the motion sensor goes off I can see that too. Can't speak highly enough about this product.
