No other fee-free trading platform out there like this one
Robinhood is a great platform and charges no fees for trading, which in unheard of, especially for the quality of the platform and ease-of-use that's available. They're on the cutting edge and I approve of them as a long time investor.
It would be nice if you could do automatic reinvestment of dividends and if there were a dashboard view where one can easily see the cost basis, amount of shares, % of portfolio like the information shown once you dive deeper into a share of stock but at least it easily shows all this important information but would be good to see it in a dashboard.
For a new investor or a day trader looking to make a lot of trades, Robinhood is fantastic! You can set limit prices for a buy or sell, and hit good until canceled and it's set it and forget it until you get the price you want.
Also, their program of getting others to sign up and both parties get a free share of stock is genius!
To end, I know Robinhood is in talks with some new cutting edge companies to be able to offer some unique products that have been inaccessible to a retail investor or new investor, empowering the "average Joe" to execute like a pro!
Best App Out There for the Beginner Trader
Honestly I can't even begin to tell you how much Robinhood has saved me in trade fees! I've been using their app for about two and a half years now and my only complaint is I wish they had mutual funds available and more reports/analysis that you could run on your portfolio. From what I understand they are trying to expand their offerings, and the later issue can be quickly rectified by manually inputting your trades into SigFig, a bit tedious but very useful! Robinhood's app is so incredibly easy to use and their support is fantastic. I highly recommend this app!
Outstanding, Simplistic Investing Platform
A simplistic, easy to navigate app! The best part is it's 100% FREE to use. No strings attached, no fine print. Signing up takes a matter of minutes.
Obviously, nothing in life is free, so I was intrigued how they pay their debts. Through my investigation, I found they survive by keeping their cost to a minimum. No brick and mortar buildings and a minimal staff. They are the Southwest Airlines of the aviation community and/or the Ally of the banking community.
Their operating cost are paid for by using the slim profits from your money that have not yet been invested and is left parked in your cash account.
I would strongly recommend this app to anyone, regardless of investing knowledge.
