Great Game, Bad Controls
This is overall a great game. I was looking at the reviews, and came across one that said "Deleting is a hassle, needs an undo button". I completely agree with them. While the graphics may not be the best, or that it overheats your computer within 10 - 15 minutes, that's not the huge issue. The issue is the fact that this game can get frustrating when you make an accidental mistake, such as placing a Hot Dog Stand in the incorrect place. When you do this, you either have to sell it (Which doesn't give you all of your money back), and then put it back in the place you inteneded it to be in. This game would be much better if there was an undo button so that you can move the stand to the place you actually wanted it to be, or maybe even provide a way so that you can move it after it has already been placed to a different locations. My second complaint is that the trackpad is GARBAGE if you intend using it while playing this game. For example, you can't rotate with a double-click, which begins to become a huge problem when you need to look at something from the front, side, back, etc. This is one of the very crucial elements needed in order to play the game, and Aspyr didn't provide it. So if you plan on playing this game, purchase a mouse, and make sure you have LOTS of patience stored up in order to play this. Hopefully Aspyr will release an update with an undo button to correct mistakes as well as updated controls optimized for the trackpad.
Fantastic, but with graphical flaws
I absolutely enjoyed this game when I had my old Toshiba laptop running windows as a kid in 2004. It seems to be a direct port of that beloved game from many years ago, which is a great thing but it has some minor setbacks in graphics specifically.
-Water DOES NOT reflect, and after doing some extensive research on the internet to find a solution, it seems as though this version for mac does not support reflecting water whatsoever, which for me is a huge letdown. The game runs amazing on my macbook air and I can build a huge park without noticing a lag, but not having that reflecting water really takes away from the game's beauty potential.
-Another issue I noticed mostly took place at night when riding first person on a rollercoaster. The entire railings of the coaster shine a very bright and annoying white, along with any buildings or scenery built around it. This particular issue is highly annoying since building indoor rides is nearly impossible to appreciate after because it appears you're staring at the sun.
Both issues are very noticeable when the park is at night, and I truly hope a patch or update gets released since I absolutely LOVE this game and can stil spend countless hours playing it!
Good game, but graphical flaws
Okay, this game is really good, and a great time waster. I love everything about it from creating in sandbox mode to completing the different scenarios and trying to make a profit. If you are really into designing theme parks, or creating your coasters however you want, this is the game for you. There's even a little bit of finance involved for you finance junkies. But the game suffers from one issue….
The graphics suffer, especially at night. Not how pretty the graphics are, and not all graphics, but specifically the roller coaster cart (train) and the rollercoaster track. They turn bland white and semi-transparent, which leads to a dissapointment when you want to see the coaster run in the night. This issue doesn't always happen, but it's there enough that it is noticeable. And mostly happens to the rollercoaster train, at night. It has happened during the day once or twice during the few days I've played this but nighttime is what I really dread. Good game, just fix the issue.
