We live in a world where it’s easier to communicate with another human being than ever before—a world that also places relentless demands on our time and attention.
Even with the amazing technology we have in our pockets, we can fly through the day without remembering to send a simple “I love you” to the most important person in our lives.
Romantimatic can help.
When you run Romantimatic the first time, it will ask you to select your sweetheart from among your contacts. From then on, it will remind you to stop what you’re doing every once in a while and send them a nice message, via either SMS or iMessage.
The app comes with a couple dozen pre-written texts, and you can add any number of your own, or compose something new when the reminders arrive. You can vary the frequency of the reminders — anything from twice a day to once a week — and set the days of the week and the hours of the day that the app will be active. It’s as simple as that!
Sometimes, the smallest things mean the most, and a romantic message from you will make your sweetheart’s day!
What's New in Version 1.0.1
The app now includes phone numbers and e-mail addresses from "linked accounts," if you are using multiple sources for contact information. (This was the most troublesome bug people have reported, even preventing some from using the app at all.)
The app now shows phone numbers and e-mail addresses with custom labels instead of ignoring them.
The app now always uses English when converting from numerals to words, instead of the phone's local language. This is a stop-gap measure until we can handle multiple languages.
The app no longer occasionally vertically compresses the "Call" and "Message" selections into incomprehensibility.
The app now includes just a little extra love. Riiight there. That's right. Right there. Good.
(And, hey, if you've found Romantimatic useful, would you consider taking a moment to rate it in the App Store? We're eager to hear any feedback you have about the program, but good reviews from happy customers are something we cherish, and want to share. Thanks!)
Good reminder for absent-minded me
This app helps me remember that my wife likes a little unsolicited affirmation. I can often get wrapped up in what I'm doing and my busy schedule and forget to acknowledged the ways in which she is being awesome.
The only downside is how often it "reminds" me when it's time. Often I'm not by my phone when the alert first goes off, so I'll return to my phone with 5 or so alerts designed to make me feel guilty.
Many of us need reminding
Greg, thank you for this awesome app. I use it to remind me to let my sister know more often how much I appreciate her. Once I get romance back into my life, I will use it to remind me to be a better partner. It’s important for people to hear sweet things from those who love them and not have it all assumed. No harm in being reminded.
I really appreciate the simplicity of this app. It works well for me and I'll be forever grateful for it. :)
