Like having a good friend in Rome
When in Rome...use this app! Aesthetics aside (this app IS beautiful), the app contains a plethora of information. Toss aside your guidebooks, they are likely outdated anyway. On my recent trip, I visited at least 5 establishments that Katie recommended and I have to say that her descriptions were spot on. Do yourself a favor, put in the extra effort and savor the REAL Rome, and avoid the over-priced, low quality, tourist traps. Check out her blog as well. Thanks, Katie! Can't wait for you to tackle more cities. :)
Author has Good Credibility
The author is the go-to guide in Rome for many of the best Italian chefs that the States have to offer, such as Mario Batali and Brad Spence. If you want to get inspired by authentic Roman foods and if you don't want to get ripped off by many tourist traps in Rome, use this app. Katie Parla constantly keeps her recommended list updated as many of the good old standbys have turned into tourist traps.
The only reason I gave it a four-star is because the app crashes constantly on my iPad Air whenever I tap for more info about food tours. I hope this will be fixed soon.
All you need for dining in Rome!
Katie is fantastic, and her app is the only resource you need when it comes to dining in Rome. We ate at 4 of her recommendations in our 3 days in Rome, and each one proved better than the last. It's still hard to pick a favorite. From the quality of food, to ambiance, to gracious restaurateurs, Rome truly impressed thanks to Katie Parla. The GPS on the app makes it worth it alone... It's great to have your bearings and not rack up roaming charges.
