Decent Beginner Game
Having played dozens of the Escape Room games, I found this one to be a little too easy for me. Each room can be escaped with only about 4 or 5 “moves” that are generally too simple and obvious. On the other hand, this game would be great for beginners for the same reason and it doesn’t have some the arbitrary (and stupid) puzzles that I’ve seen that only an insane person would think of... so it’s good for being straightforward and intuitive.
Updated Review: After playing 20+ rooms, there is a point where the rooms get a little more interesting — enough me to add a star. It’s still a pretty basic game — I’ve never been stuck; but I think what they have done is start out very simple and then (a little too gradually) they start to get a little more involved — I.e. a simple second room and a few extra steps.
Graphics are great and music isn’t bad. But occasionally I tap something not quite sure where and I get a box that says something and it looks like there is a choice but I have no clue because I can’t read it. If the box with the unknown language isn’t important be cool if you got rid of it. If it has important information on it then it would be cool if you translated it. Then I would give it five stars.
I figured out the box with the unknown language has nothing to do with the game but like someone else commented I ran into a problem with picking things up. Room 35 specifically I can’t pick up the knife under the pillow. But other then that the game is really cool.
These are a lot of fun, but as Lajealle said before me, there are some problems in this installment that weren’t in the last.
—I had to exit out and restart multiple levels because my clicks weren’t registering to either pick up items or work puzzles. This only turned out to be a minor inconvenience (since it usually took about a minute each time to regain my progress), but this could be debilitating if it happened when it wasn’t obvious it was a glitch, and the player thought they were missing something.
—The piano puzzle in Level 37 is definitely wrong The clue indicates you should enter HOLMES, but the puzzle requires you to enter LEOMSH, with nothing in the game that explains why.
—Similar issue in Level 47, where the puzzle asks the player to mix colors together, and the “blue+yellow=green” symbol and the “red+yellow=orange” one were switched. (Clue indicates it should be Orange-Green-Purple-Red, but the working solution was Green-Orange-Purple-Red)
I do appreciate the more consistent graphics and the small ambient animations in this installment, though! Overall, it was still pretty enjoyable to get through.
