Need improvement

Still pretty new user of this app, just purchased it about a week ago. App has very simple and user friendly interface. After being Chief Architect user for many years, I could definitely use a little more complicated app with more tools and controls. I have purchased it for use with my new Leica Disto 7500i laser measurer. To my disappointment, room planer doesn't connect to Disto 7500i every time. And when it does, I don't know how to read laser measurements into room planer. In Owner's manual it only says connect to Bluetooth laser device, without much further instructions.
Having some difficulty adjusting walls in some cases. My biggest wish for this app is, that Chief Architect would make it some what compatible with Chief Architect X4 and later versions, so preliminary house layout done on site, using Room Planer and laser measurer could be transferring to X4 software on PC for further work on it.

Limited and problematic

I bought this because it was touted for in-the-field work which could later be imported into Chief Architect. As an estimator, this seemed like a great step toward customer satisfaction and a time saver for me.

Unfortunately, I can only use it for drawing basic floor plans, i.e., walls; and even that can be a problem, as other reviewers have repeatedly pointed out. Also, when I imported a plan I had been working on all weekend into Chief Architect, all that came over was the floor plan! No windows, doors, cabinets, etc.. Pretty much a waste of time.

Why Chief Architect doesn't put the money out to get this app really functional is beyond me. And why they think we should pay over and over for every little thing we want to upgrade to is also beyond me. Nickel and dime you to death!

Finally, I paid $10 in the LE version just to be able to save plans, thinking I had upgraded to Pro version. Then, when I couldn't seem to import them into CA, I paid another $10 for the pro version. I downloaded the pro version and none of my previous plans were available to it!

I wouldn't buy this unless you want to just have fun on your iPad. It's fun enough in the beginning. I'll give it that. But you will soon get very frustrated with the limitations.

Also, the You Tube video is very misleading! The way it looks and appears to work on You Tube is much more advanced than what I actually experienced.

I just read over my review...maybe 2 stars is too many!

Love it, but needs more updating.

I absolutely love this app, but there are a few bugs/glitches that I'd like to see fixed, as well as additions I'd like to see incorporated into the app. First of all, once in a while when opening a plan, random doors will appear throughout the design, none of which I put down. Secondly, one of my most used items in the app, the tub/shower combo , is glitched, and is greyed out instead of looking like a real bathtub/shower. I'd love to see more furniture that you will not have to buy, and more "architectural things", such as new doors, windows, fireplaces, and stairs. I think it would be very cool if we could actually use the stairs to create a second story, instead of being limited to only making one-story homes and rooms. Something else I'd love to see is more materials, such as hardwoods and carpets, because those are very limited, making it hard to come up with a unique design. Again, I honestly love this app, but it needs some more updating for me to give it a 5 star.
